Zovirax

My dentist writes a script for the cream once a year, keep it on hand toss > 12 months.  Only get maybe 1, at most 2 a year.

One spot of Zovirax from the tube on to Q-tip, gone!

Dang, mine give me NO warning at all!

Re: Cold sore question

@goldensrbest @What you are experiencing could be a fever dream.
According the Healthline:

"You might develop a fever* because your body is responding to:

  • a viral or bacterial infection
  • heat exhaustion
  • certain inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • medicines, such as antibiotics
  • an immunization
  • a tumor"

"People often describe a fever dream as emotionally intense, troubling, strange, or scary. These dreams may also include less social interaction scenarios than normal dreams.

In the 2013 study, one volunteer said their dreams would move “back and forth between a very difficult circumstance and a very comfortable circumstance.”

A recent online study looked at 164 individuals, 100 of whom reported a recent fever dream. The authors found that fever dreams were more bizarre, negatively toned, and included more references to health and temperature perception compared to normal dreams."

@goldensrbest   I have not had a cold sore in years...I have no idea why I quit getting them but glad I did.  I do not recall not feeling well when they would occur.

I never took any prescription meds (occasionally I used n gel I purchased at the drug store) as soon as I felt a tingle on my lip I started putting an ice cube on the area, as often as I thought about it.

In my opinion, it lessend the pain as well as the length of time I had the cold sore.

When I feel a cold sore coming on, I swab the area with Hydrogen Peroxide, then apply Vaseline twice a day.  The Vaseline helps to soothe the skin.
