When I'm stressed I'll get a breakout and sometimes stress causes me to have strange dreams, too.

@SilleeMee I am that way with shingles. Get a case "out of the blue"......don't know anybody with children....so I blame it on being "run down". Starts out like a cold, and fatigue, and also "strange" dreams.

I keep a HUGE jar of Lysine capsules handy. di

When I feel stress coming on then I start taking extra doses of lysine. I don't wan't to have a breakout! I have a mammo coming up tomorrow and that always stresses me out so I started taking extra lysine on Monday...LOL!

Good luck @SilleeMee , tomorrow, zinc lozenges , you said are best for added zinc ,correct? If i remember, any brand?

Never had that type of a reaction from a cold sore.

I have not had one in years. My lip always feels tingly & or itchy before I get one. I apply Abreva first sign of one & it makes it go away.

Abreva is the only thing I have ever found that works quickly to get rid of a cold sore. I don't seem to get cold sores nearly as often as I did when I was younger, but always keep the Abreva just in case.
