@SeaMaiden No joke..... These people are multi-millionaires just from being on Shark Tank. I think Lori Grenier invested in it. They couldn't sell them fast enough. It is that good. I don't think it's all that expensive either. Doctors started recommending it to their patients too. There was a lot of hoopla over it when it was shown......

@sophiamarie Yes, I saw it on Shark tank. I imagine Howard Stern needs one as he is most likly full of $&@$. ( a joke!). I can say that this position would be hard for anyone with hip or knee arthritis.

@Soohiamarie,@SeaMaiden - I tried the Squatty Potty concept (actually, I got two stacks of books because I didn't want to spend the money for one) and I couldn't sit in that position. It hurt my hips, knees and butt.

I remember Lori saying that more than 2/3 of the world "squats" - that's the natural way. Squatty Potty comes in different sizes too - but how would anyone know which size fits them?? Maybe it depends on how long or short our legs are???

Before you go through any more unpleasant and unnecessary tests, it may be helpful for you to consult a nutritionist. I'm not a medical professional, but I think it would probably be beneficial for you to take a probiotic, increase your fiber and vegetables and, very importantly, increase your water intake as others have said.

I read that a healthy person goes three times a day, like after a full meal. Who wants all the bad bacteria hanging out any longer than necessary?
Yes that is what I read too. and glad I read it as everything I put in my mouth comes out in an hour or so.....lol.... What is normal for one person is not nessarly normal for another. Some people normally go only 3 x a week or whatever their body needs

I don't know how bad your condition is but I would go only once a week or a week and a half and I had a doctor tell me to take 1 vitamin B1 tablet every day and it works. I got to the bathroom everyday at least once a day sometimes twice.

You might find this interesting (bad bacteria):

This thread is making me so sad!
All pills, powders & potions to make ourselves defecate!
And for years at a time. All that has a cumulative effect.
Funny how the OP said,
"...suggested I eat more fruits (?!?!?). I have to believe he missed something"....as if doing something Mother Nature natural, eating the beautiful fruits the world gave us, would not be enough.
Maggie, you fixed it with diet. Yay!
Constipation can be relieved with diet.
Modern day illness w/ a generations old solution.

You are so right. I used to wonder why my grandmothers were obsessed with BMs. Now, when anyone in my family mentions they don't feel good, I say, hmm, did you go today? Are you having problems going?
My son is in his 30's now but when he was a young boy (toddler and up) my Grandmother worried about how often he went. We all stayed with her as long as a week each time for alone time so she observed closely how often her grandchildren and great-grandchildren went to the bathroom.
My most memorable phrase she had when I picked him up after a few days with her was he only went once and he was looking "hollowed eye" due to that. When she passed she had been taking 3 Extra Strength Exlax daily to go for herself. Her Dr. knew and did not like it but what could he do. She started out taking one a day when she got older but had to increase dosage for same results as the years went by. Passed on at the age of 94 in her sleep, I do not think the laxative hurt in any way.
