I wore trifocals for many years. The iol lense I chose for my Left eye was a Multi-focal lense. That allowed me to read even small print, no readers immediately after my cataract surgery. It also took care of mid and long distance reading. I no longer wear, or need any glasses.
For my Right eye I went with the usual Mono-focol iol lense. Haven't wore glasses since and that was about 10 years ago. I am 80.

I had the mono vision cataract surgery, just like my contacts before the surgery. I was very nearsighted and had astigmatism. Don’t need any glasses, couldn’t be happier!
P.S. I didn’t pay any more for this than any other cataract sx.
