Pam, does chicken remind you of Chinese food? Haha
Ok, I like the Golden Girls. Goldie, you're going to have to get another chicken!!
Maestra, are you still warm and fuzzy?
Well today was a day. I wore two different shoes to work. I assumed they were the same and just slipped into them. If anyone noticed, nobody said anything. I spoke with my social worker friend. Sister's quarterly update meeting was two weeks ago. She thought it was odd I didn't call in since I seemed like I wanted to attend. I said I did want to attend, but I didn't get an invitation. She assured me I'd get one. These people upset me. She said there wasn't much discussed, everything was going well. Medications were okay and no health issues. She did however, gain thirty pounds in three months. I thought she looked a little heavier in June. I didn't think much of it because she had gotten really slim from not eating. She needed to gain. Well, her clothes are tight. Was nobody going to tell me. I swear these people are something else. The social worker knows I live far away and can't just pop in. I need to call her back and talk this through when I have my thoughts together. What doesn't she understand about me wanting to know this information. I'd never know if I hadn't called. Ugh.

gcr----I am laughing at the picture of you in your new fad---mismatched shoes!!! I ALMOST did that once, but caught it before I went out. However--I did wear a fleece top inside out with the label flapping in the breeze, when we went to dinner out. DD was horrified. Didn't tell her I went commando too----hahahahhahaha--not really!!
Yes----chicken does make me think of Asian deliciousness!!!
Those dumb as#ses that are in charge of your sis make me so angry!! Grrrrrr!!!!
Cloudy but very mild today--may get some rain; first in 31 days around here--Amaze Balls!!!
Found some vintage fiesta soup bowls in pastel colors that I bought for a very good price. Got rose, periwinkle, sea mist and apricot. Think I am really done replacing my old scuzzy dishes.
Am done with p/t for my neck . Will continue with chiro and massage and home exercises.
Have been losing weight on my restricted carb diet too; prob about 6-7 lbs in the last 2 months. Have a high a1c that has been dx as diabetes, type 2. Going to a 4 hour class on Sat to learn about it. Been testing my BG and it is still within normal ranges so don't know if high a1c is due to diabetes or from all the trauma from surgeries in the last 6 months., or maybe from my tamox too. Will get labs for it in Sept.
always something----am

Hi All......Hope everyone is having a lovely summer! I haven't felt like writing, but I have been following all of your posts everyday---I enjoy reading about what you all have been up to.I'm also happy to hear that everyone is doing well--and that Goldie finally posted--I became worried about her too when I realized she hadn't been in touch with anyone here.
I had a PET scan yesterday and will get the results when I see my oncologist tomorrow. As usual, I'm very anxious. Been having pelvic pain and bladder issues--had a UTI two weeks ago---I continue to have burning---saw my regular gynecologist--my UTI is gone, but he saw a lot of radiation damage during my exam--the only advice he could give me is to use RePlens internal & external gel--and to LIVE MY LIFE. I get what he's saying, but until he has experienced the annoying burning I have all the time, it's hard to just go about my business like nothing is wrong--just going to the bathroom is painful. And so----hopefully my scan is clear---then maybe I will feel calmer mentally---maybe that will make me feel better all the way around. <big sigh>
Aside from all that, my hubby has had a lousy week---he got a corneal abraison (we had to run to Urgent Care--our eye doctor wasn't in) and then he lost his inhaler--his asthma has been flaring up and he's using it a lot---he lost a brand new one, so our insurance wouldn't cover another one--we'd have to pay the pharmacy $70 for a new one----however, my hubby had a good idea--he called our doctor and asked if they have any sample ones--they had one left that they gave him--so we saved $70. I know all this is nothing earth-shaking...but all this had to be dealt with while I was having anxiety attacks--the timing wasn't great.
OK--I'll stop complaining and whining....seems that's all I do lately.......would appreciate some prayers tomorrow.
I pray for all of you all the time. God Bless!!!

@GCR18 I feel your frustration. I had an experience, not quite the same circumstances, but the same frustration when my Ma was admitted to the hospital with a bruised rib and it all went downhill from there. First they overdosed her on pain medication and suppressed her breathing. Won't go into all of it - if an idiot could mess up at that hospital, it happened to the point my Ma ended up in ICU with a trach and stomach peg.
One day I just put my head on her bed and started crying. My middle sister said, why are you crying, you've been doing so good Bernie.
I said, that's the problem, you won't let me put my fist in somebody's face and I think I'm having a nervous breakdown and I just sobbed.
It's been nearly 7 years and I still call that hospital the Hellmouth. Everyone who knows me from family to coworkers knows that when I refer to Hellmouth I am not talking about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Oh goodness. GC you and your odd shoes as they call it in Australia. Trust me you are not alone.I have two pair of black sketchers. Laces are different. I wore two shoes that didn't match. Laughed myself silly. As far as sister. Her eating is a good sign. It shows she's content where she is. The other bozos handling her case are another story.
Pam, A1C's reflect a 3 month period. I'm sure with your weight loss and diet it will be normal. It only shoews how fragile are bodies really are when it comes to weight and what we shove in our mouths.
Graciesmom, your husband was smart to get in touch with his priviate Dr. My GP stockpiles samples for those that can't afford them. I'm sure your pet scan will be fine.
Bernie I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience. I understand the anger. I was at the hospital everyday with my mother because I didn't trust anyone.
I'm done cleaning carpets. I said just buy new ones because this is insane. I just have area rugs and they paid for themselves already.

Pam, seven pounds is good. I'll take it. Once I packed a beer in my lunch. I thought it was a soda.
Graciesmommy, your test is going to be a non event. 🙏🙏🙏. When it rains, it pours.
Birdmama, my patience is wearing thin. The social worker actually called me back to tell me what sister needed for clothes. All her clothes are too small. If I hadn't called were they just going to say nothing. Conservator was supposed to setup a petty cash fund for sister. Short story is he didn't. Nurses have been giving her money. Again, nobody called me. Mother said sister got a bill for nephews braces. Conservator was supposed to pay that off in April. Apparently I can't take anybody on their word. Sad.

thanks for the name suggestions, I really love the golden girls, I think I'll use three of those names. I haven't spent any time with them, because of the heat but when I learn more about their personalities I'll pick their names.
Its been very hot here, yesterday was 100 degrees. I just can't go out in the heat. I'm in constant hot flash mode, so going outdoors just makes it 100 times worse.
graciesmom I will say a prayer for good results.
Hug to all
Goldie

Okay @AkaGoldie. If one of them is scattered, that's Rose. If one of them is saucy, that's Blanche and the last one can be Dorothy, lol. Of course, if the one doesn't look like a Dorothy, she can always be named Sophia.
With my birds, I couldn't call them hey, you until their feathers came in and I knew their gender. Originally, the two newly hatched sparrows were Popeye and Swee'pea (the first night). Somehow they turned into Poppi and Peewee.
The last sparrow was an emergency drop off by my niece. My nephew in law nearly hit the baby with the lawn mower (no trees in the yard but a neighbor's tree overhangs in the yard).
I needed something gender neutral because the baby was 4 days old (eyes opened the next day at age 5) and the bird was pretty nekkid. I wanted to stick with the 'P' theme I had going so I named the bird Presto since she (turned out to be a girl) appeared in my life like magic.
The pigeon was a victim of something, didn't know what got that bird and I wasn't sure for the first week it would live. Again, all pigeons look alike so I went with Grayson - figured it could go either way.
It's true, you have to watch their personality.

I got GREAT NEWS from my oncologist this morning!!!!!!! My PET scan was CLEAR---no sign of cancer---no sign of the intestinal inflammation I had for a long time---WOOHOO and YAY!!!!!!!!!! My oncxologist told me I will continue to need a PET scan every 3 months for awhile, but then will have them every 4 months, then every 5 and finally every 6 months--but she wants me to have a clear scan for at least two more times before she moves me into the 4 month club. Fine with me!! My next scan is already sc heduled for the end of October.
My oncologist is so sweet--she gave me a big kiss on my cheek before she left the exam room--and her nurse gave me a big thumbs up!!!!!! My hubby and I are SO RELIEVED!!
Once again, thank you all for the prayers and kind thoughts--it means a lot to me. May God bless you all!!!!!
