@Pink123  Premarin should be pulled off the market. It's ingredients and the way it is obtained are cruel. Way back in the day it was all there was, but today it isn't, and most people are aware of how it's obtained and chose cruelty free options as well as newer and better formulations.

Estradiol would be a substitute I believe.

@viva923  Your post resonated with me and I sincerely hope you get to the cause of these and get help.

I just got over a painful two weeks with lots of tests at the ER and antibiotics and then read my warnings from Jardiance, the new drug I've been on for a while. The No.! side effect is UTIs! I left a message for my cardiologist that I was stopping this drug and he replied, yes, do that. Who knew? I figure Jardiance owes me more than $200 for all the charges plus an undisclosed amount for the pain and suffering.

Ladies, heed the warnings and read the side effects on new drugs you're prescribed.

Have written on here in the past about my first ever and  worst UTI that almost landed me in the hospital,as the first round of antibiotics didn't help ,had to get another prescription for a stronger dose for 2 weeks .To me I am one that don't like to take any overload of antibiotics, did clear it up but after this episode started to look for a more natural remedy to start taking to avoid another UTI. Been a follower of Andrew Lessman so check out what he makes to promote a healthy environment for the bladder and urinary tract..Saw  Cranberry with  D-Mannose order and have faithfully taken for last 2 years and knock on wood haven't had another attack ,which I remember physician (male) saying they usually can  become more common as you age and  I am a senior with only 1 in my lifetime.

Have you tried d mannose or cranberry pills. I have a hard time getting rid of a uti with only a five day course. I usually need 7 to 19 days or it comes back.

If interested, there's an informative article on the NIH website entitiled "Genitourinary Syndrome of Menapause."    Frequent UTI's as well as other symptons are common for a lot of women after going through menapause.

My urologist suggested I try Ellura.  It is an OTC.  Now I won't be without it.   Pricey but worth it IMO.

I had the same issue for many years . I was finally able to get a referral to a Urologist . I had a tumor in my bladder . It was benign .I am doing well now . There is a reason for everything .

Good luck .

Have you been to a urogynecologist for a cystoscopy?  Make sure your bladder is healthy.

A friend of mine recently went through a series of UTIs and a battery of testing.  She was told to watch her diet and cut out some things such as caffeine.  The bladder acts as a distillery.

Hate to say this, but putting this out there.  Could it possibly be a hygiene issue?

I started taking a cranberry supplement every other day as a preventative tool.

I feel like I could just say DITTO in response to your text.  I too have had constant UTI infections for at least the past 4 months.  2 days after the last antibiotic pill, the UTI is back.  The MDs kept putting me on Nitrofurantoin.  It would eliminate the symptoms almost immediately and then the symptoms were back again.

I did try D-Mannose and that kept the UTI under control for almost a month but then it was back again.

Sometimes my urine shows bacteria and sometimes not.

I am now on Keflex.  I'm still on it so I don't know how it will work out.

I have an appt with a urologist on July 10.  Not looking forward to it.
