My best guess is that ego and vanity being what they are and that we're watching television, not eating their end product, these chefs/cooks are going to wear their jewelry "just because" or "I'm not going on camera without some bling on my fingers" or "I never take my wedding or engagement rings off."

 

Honestly, I do believe that if this were real, not reel, life, we wouldn't be seeing rings and bracelets on fingers and wrist.
