All raw meat should be handled carefully to prevent food infection. Salmonella can be found on raw fowl, just as a dangerous strain of E. coli can be found on raw hamburger.
Although it’s not common, egg shells can also carry salmonella.
We just have to be careful with how we handle food, and we should never allow small children to help prepare these foods. More than one child has died from helping roll meatballs.
