I have had 2 extractions including dental implant surgery, pieces of cake, just using novacaine, so dont worry!!

@Shelbelle   I've only had one.  The implant was done just last week.  In both cases I just had novacaine and had NO ISSUES at all.  They prescribed pain meds for both procedures,  just in case,  and even though I filled them,  they were never needed.  I think a lot of that depends on you and your oral surgeon.

@Luvsmyfam   Good luck today.   Try to be brave and trust your doctor.  Do what makes you the most comfortable.

@Luvsmyfam , hopefully, your tooth surgery went well today and you're home resting.

Let us know how you're doing.

@Luvsmyfam , regarding the IV; this is why I suggested having your dentist give you a script for Ativan or something else, plus listening to music.

As for the tylenol, I would NOT wait until you need it, but rather take it and "stay ahead" of the pain.

Make sure you do not drink any liquid through a straw either; hopefully your dentist gave you instructions for the after care.
