Re: Broke a Tooth

[ Edited ]

I was in the midst of getting a dental implant- and covid hit! Fortunately the empty area isn't noticeable- but I'm so wary of going to the dentist these days. For anything!!

@Icegoddess  Wow! Flying is great! I haven't had that for years!  That's very positive! I think your swimming one is too. I only get dreams of  having to go to the bathroom and trying to use a pen or pencil to write something. Mine have to do with not making time for myself. I think you can figure out the clothes one for yourself. Who is trying to control you?

Just left the dentist.  Originally, they weren't going to do anything today since they were booked, but they had a cancellation this morning so went ahead snd did impressions and gave me my temporary tooth.  Funny, I had the piece of tooth that broke off with me and they sorta glued it back on to get the impression of the existing tooth.

My biggest concern is whether I can safely put my retainer in and take it out without pulling the temporary tooth off.  I really shouldn't go 2 weeks without wearing it.

So, I spent 2 to 2 1/4 hours in the chair.  Now, for some reason I am extremely shaky.  I don't know if it's just from all the tensing up or if it could be some reaction to all the novacaine.  I have had plenty of novacaine in my life, so that would be a new side effect for me

@Icegoddess - I feel for you!💗   I recently was told by the periodontist that I have "dry mouth" which has been the reason that my teeth get loose and have to be pulled.  Of course, I wish I had known that years ago so maybe I could have treated it.  Maybe nobody knew about it back then. Who knows? Glad you could get yours fixed already.

@ECBG Could be better.  The novocaine is wearing off now.

I have a recurring dream that I never got my braces taken off. They would be about 40 years old by now  and my orthodontist has long been deceased.   Usually I have this dream more often when I'm past due to see the dentist.

@Icegoddess ...When I had my root canal and crown put on, I was in the chair for hourssss also...and I've had root canals/ crowns before but this time, I thought I was going to have a heart attack  - and I was also shaky afterwards.  Sure don't want to have to go through all of that again anytime soon.
