@hyacinth003 I am so sorry. I will be praying for you. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you all your your comments. They were helpful. Sometimes you just want to tell someone and feel better. She has no idea I have been so upset. Or she's just used to it. I honestly know we'll get through what ever it is or isn't and I'll be here in the meantime. I know not to overwhelm her with my anxiety. My mother was the same way and it was so annoying.

How wonderful of you to contribute to this post being that you were just diagnosed yourself.
Please don't beat yourself up about missing mammograms. Don't look back. Just look forward. Maybe you can even use it as a teaching moment for women you know who don't get mammograms.
Prayers for you as you go through chemo, surgery, and radiation. Remember, keep looking forward!❤
Thanks for your kind words. I will tell everyone not to skip mammograms now. Won't stop you from getting cancer, but the earlier it is caught, the simpler the treatment can be. Had the port put in yesterday for chemo. I feel like it's happening to someone else. I am just trying to do what I am instructed to get started. So many women have had to go through this.

My daughter's biopsy came back and it is cancer. She will go for scans next week to determine what they will do and what stage it is. She doesn't want to talk about it with me and doesn't want me to go out to California. Although depending on what they need to do she may need me. She doesn't have anyone else out there. It sounds like we have a terrible relationship but not at all. She just doesn't want me worrying and she likes to do things herself. I am asking for your prayers please. Thank you.

I am very sorry about her dx--but glad she is getting it taken care of. And now more waiting and more tests --that was the maddening part of the whole process for me. But first steps first---I did most of the preliminary stuff by myself too and actually most of the treatment plan on my own as well--had an extremely inept spouse that was useless anyway. I'm sure she will let you know about things----I was dx in late April and started treatments in June so it did take awhile, but everyone is different. Try to stay calm ---I know--so hard.

@KCDiva ,
Prayers for your daughter, and you. I do understand the stress of this diagnosis. I suggest letting your daughter lead the way, and give her some space to sort through this. She will then let you know what and when she needs from you.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June, went through four biopsies on my left breast and underwent a mastectomy in July. It has now been four weeks since surgery and I feel great.
My cancer was detected early and all of it was removed, I don't have to have radiation or chemo therapy, but will start taking a estrogen blocking drug in a week or so. My type of cancer is called HER2negative.
Between my kids and sister I haven't wanted for anything, they've all taken turns to stay with me. I have a high pain tolerance but I can honestly say that the surgery wasn't that bad (minus the drains afterwards).
Hopefully everyone going through this right now will have a speedy recovery and make out well all around.

I have also recently been through breast cancer, mastectomy and reconstruction. If your daughter will be having mastectomy surgery, she will need some help after. I was on Percocet for about 15 days and could not drive, so having my family here to cart me around to appointments was a blessing.
Not to make light of any of this, but I was so grateful for all the squats I've done in the gym, because getting off the toilet after surgery was a biotch.
@hyacinth003 this time is for you. Ask for whatever you need. We are in your pocket for every chemo sesh. Doesnt matter how it came about. You are addressing it now. You've got this.
@JaneMarple thank heavens for family. Thank the universe for medical doctors and the scientists who make detection and treatment possible.
