I love bread. I miss bread. But I don't miss the extra weight and sluggishness. Bread does indeed, fatten us up. That is coming from my doctor and he was right. I watch sugar too.

Most cultures have had some form of a leavened/unleavened grain based food since the beginning of civilization. Pita, Naan, Matzo, Tortilla, Noodles, Pasta, etc. If anyone is having health problems from eating store bought, white bread, maybe they should try another form. There are a lot of choices. And use common sense as to portion control.

Thank you.
God made a simple design. Its not a special secret or club you have to join to attain His optimum vision.
Pick the fruit, eat the fruit.
Pull the vegetable, eat the vegetable.
Want some bread...eat some bread once in a while
Walk a little bit.
Sleep well.
Be happy.
It's so simple.

I am beginning to wonder, too. Since using primarily gluten-free bread and dropping all cereals from my diet, I have experienced some improvements with several health issues. However, to improve even more, I must drop sugar, and that one is extremely difficult for me to embrace. (Love my 85 percent cacao.)
The odd thing is that I really like the taste of Rudi gluten-free bread.
