Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. I had a parathyroid removed a couple years ago. My PTH is high (80) but high, calcium is normal range (9.1), I have been feeling like total cr ap for several months now and have been getting vitamin B 12 shots for almost a year. Now, my DHEA is low (58). My skin is horribly dry, my nails are flaking layer by layer and my moods are all over the place. I do have Hashimoto's and am on compounded thyroid. I have been trying to get hold of my endo but due to the storms power outages here in CT, his phone is still not up and running, I have been trying for a week and a half now.
my question is, is a low DHEA something to worry about? Could this be the answer to my feeling like total cr ap? Also, I have been breaking bones very easily. I got tied up in a wave at Misquamicut on July 5th and fractured my tibia while being thrown around. Im only 54 and certainly should not be feeling his way!
thank you all!
Cath
