I've battled IBS-C for over 40 years, so my question is what foods DO NOT cause bloating and gas!

I took out gluten and sugar from my diet and my bloating has gone away. I used to bloat every time I ate bread or pasta. I rarely have any problem with gas anymore, either. I'm on a paleo-style diet.

Me too!

I also ditched dairy.

If you have bloating (ie inflammation), you have the other. Believe me.....when you're sitting in the next stall over from me @ the gym....it smells. You might not think, but phew....courtesy flush!!!! Smiley Very Happy

That all depends on YOUR body chemistry and sensitivities.

You can say that again. I've been through every medical test, elimination diet, etc. At least I have learned my "must avoid" foods and know I can't touch them without a flare up. Also, keeping my stress level low helps a lot. When I'm upset, no matter what I eat, I'll be living in the bathroom for a few days.

Reduce your fat intake & animal proteins. Increase greens & water. Think alkaline, alkaline, alkaline.

I hear you! Stress is such a key here. I know, I've lived that!!

I found that cutting back on sugar free gum has made a HUGE difference to how bloated and gassy I was in the afternoon. If I just chew one or two pieces throughout the day I am fine. I use to chew sugar free gum all day( an old habit from 25 years ago to help me quit smoking) and the sorbitol that most gums contain is the sugar alcohol that causes gas. So now, I just limit my gum( it was like an addiction so for me it was hard but I decided that my tummy feeling better was better than chewing the gum!Smile)

Everyone who isn't a vegetarian, I think.

I'm laughing because this is the first time I've come across someone who has literally said her own poop don't stink.
