@SilleeMee

I am interested in starting to take this supplement, Micro Ingredients Organic Bamboo Extract Powder, that you have mentioned here.  I found it on Amazon, but it does not state that it is the 20:1 extract.  You had posted a picture of it on another thread.

This is what it on Amazon now.  Doyou think it is the same?  I am going to order it if it is.

@4kitties

Not sure about that ratio but more importantly is the percentage of silica present in the product. Most silica extracts contain only about 70% silica and the other 30%, in this case, is from the bamboo plant itself.

I am not taking the bamboo silica extract now. I have switched to taking 100% pure silicon dioxide. I take 1/4-teaspoon daily. It's a very fine tasteless white powder which dissolves in liquids almost instantly with no grittiness as some have found with the bamboo silica.

This is the silicon dioxide I am currently taking, from Amazon. Only available in one size and it's a big bag so you'll have it forever...lol!

Thank you so much for your response.  I had a dexascan yesterday and my density had gone down a bit.  Big surprise to me, and I would like to get a grip on this before it could get any worse.  All of my previous scans had been normal.  I have not yet discussed this with my doctor, but want to have a plan in place when I do.

I like the 1/4 tsp. dosage!  Surely I can handle that!🤣🤣

Again, thank you!💕

If you prefer the bamboo silica, Microingredients brand is good.

Just FYI, I prefer taking caps not using powders. I use Swanson Bamboo caps or I take NOW Silica Complex tablets.  I dont like mixing powders into liquids if I dont have to.

One of the biggest reasons why I prefer powder supps over caps is that you get pure ingredients in the powders whereas with caps there are usually other ingredients such as fillers or some other thing in them. Plus the cost difference is significantly lower with powders.

I mix mine in my yogurt.

Be aware that if you have thyroid disease, they recommend you not take Bamboo Extract for long periods of time.  I took the BE for several months before getting a bone scan, but stopped afterwards because of that recommendation.  I recently started back using the silicon dioxide since there are no warning about using it with thyroid disease.  I think it probably falls into the category of avoiding goitrogenics  and cruciferous vegetables when you have thyroid disease.  That doesn't mean you can't ever eat them, just to be careful about eating a lot of them.

I understand but I dont drink a lot of beverages, especially hot ones where I can on a daily basis mix powders into them. I do use Benefiber and mix that in a small glass of water each morning . I take so many supp for my arthritis and other things the additives dont bother me. Of course I do read the lables before buying. I trust the brands I buy to be as pure as they can be.
