Autonomic Nervous System Imbalance

Anyone else diagnosed with this problem? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who is suffering with it or knows much about it. Not a very common ailment to be sure but perhaps some of you are familiar with it. Thank you.

Re: Autonomic Nervous System Imbalance

There are a plethora of systems which can be affected by an ill-functioning ANS. My first question would be what is making the ANS, as a whole, malfunctioning?

Have you been diagnosed by a holistic practitioner or a physician? I have my doubts that a neurologist would make such a diagnosis. He/she would rather seek out additional specialists to pinpoint exact issues within the ANS i.e. blood pressure, etc.

Good luck pinning down exact physiological challenges.

Re: Autonomic Nervous System Imbalance

I have been diagnosed by a neurologist (after much testing) and my regular doctor has confirmed it. Before being diagnosed I had issues for many years. No one could figure out why I was so lightheaded much of the time. Cardiologist said not heart related. Illness has become more symptomatic now with drops in blood pressure and occasional syncope. Happens very suddenly. Dr. just started me on low dose of steroids. There are a couple other drugs but he said to hold off on those as this problem is not curable, only treatable and will wait till it gets worse. Am trying holistic methods as well i.e.. exercise, resting, avoiding stress when I can, well-balanced diet, meditation. I'm finding that the plethora of systems that can be affected is already taking place. Also, I was told to drink caffein, lots of water, good amount of salt, Gator Aid, all in an effort to keep blood pressure up.

Thank you very much for your response.
