How are you all coping if you are fighting a cold right now?
My Husband had this virus over Christmas.... I just came down with it yesterday. I was hoping since it had been a couple of weeks that I was just not going to catch it. but... it got me. Guess the incubation period was two weeks. He is still hacking and coughing but he feels better.
I am in the worse stage right now.... Sore throat, my chest hurts... temp about 101. No cough yet...my chest is just very tight right now.. the cough may be the next stage( or not).
That is about all right now. I am taking lots of supplements to help my immune fight it off . Elderberry and Zinc lozenges with vitamin C, homeopathic cold and flu stuff, I have a really great immune system . I really think the powdered mushrooms I take every day have made a huge difference in how strong my immune system is. Last cold I had was three years ago. That is it. I suppose that this virus will make my immune system revived up so I will probably stay well after this.
Good excuse to rest. I still have this sore Bum with sciatica going down my legs from my fall on the ice last week.... When it rains it pours! ![]()

I'm getting over a cold and my husband has bronchitis. He's on antibiotics and Prednisone. Because he smokes, I'm sure it's taking longer for him to get over it. He planned on quitting smoking, but he says he can't deal with the withdrawal from tobacco and being sick. Just hoping he follows thru to stop smoking.

@SeaMaiden when we get the flu I make a warm drink with manuka honey, lemon.grated ginger.water and a couple of twists of black pepper. We drink this about three times a day until better...I think the manuka honey is very good at killing virus but don't overheat it or you destroy some of the potency.

Oh my goodness, poor you. You are doing all the right things, but I wish I could bring you some chicken soup. Be well soon. The only good that comes from times like this is that when we recover, we really appreciate the days we can jump out of bed and feel good. Sending sunshine and healing thoughts to you.

I've stayed healthy so far this winter. My neighbor started working at a daycare and has been sick for two months now - first flu, then stomach flu. I'm supposed to have lunch with her Tuesday, but am going to call and cancel. I really don't want any of that.

@dex I wish I had some of that honey. That is a real powerhouse of goodness. Thanks for the suggestion!

I wound up having to have a chest Xray.
I used to get this sort of URI when I was teaching toddlers, but I haven't had one in years.
YUCK!!!!!

I have been fortunate not to have a cold in many years. Hope you get well quickly.
