@Laura14 wrote:@World Traveler I got no such love so I guess I will stick to ordering direct from AL.
I didn't get a $10 coupon either.
I did use the 14% cash back on Retailmenot when it was on presale.

Someone please tell me if you've used ChocoNuvo and it has lowered your cholesterol. How many do you eat per day?
I think I tried this years ago, but really don't recall if blood tests indicated any changes.
Anyone care to share results or is this more of a preventative thing to keep cholesterol points down?

Besides ordering the Choconovo I also ordered another Free Range now that my husband uses it as well and I decided to try the Saffron. Anybody take this?

@Tinkrbl44 - I tried it years ago but don't remember my labs. I just ordered it again but I don't follow-up with my doctor for six months so I won't know until then.
Maybe someone can answer your question.

@Tinkrbl44 When ChocoNuvo first came out a few years ago, I did the cholesterol test in the lab before trying the product. It just so happened that I was due a yearly lab test, so it was easy to see how things went. I do want to note that my doctor HAD me on statins for cholesterol before I started taking CN from Andrew.
My first test after taking CN and all subsequent tests done yearly showed that my cholesterol numbers were much better and my doctor took me off statins. I was a little nervous at first...perhaps it was a fluke. But I did stop the statins. The next lab test continued to show good numbers and I haven't taken statins since CN came out.
In the discussion with my doctor, he was pleasantly pleased that my numbers were better each time. Nothing had changed in my diet; I still indulged in my favorite things, like chocolate ice cream, etc. When I mentioned what I was doing and showed him the ingredients on the container for CN, he said something to the effect: "Well, it is working for you, so all I can say is keep doing what you are doing and I will monitor it each year."
As to how many do I take, I followed his suggestion of 1-2 after each meal. Whether it is 1 or 2 he said to base it on whether or not your meal is extra fatty. So if I have a salad and a "good" sandwich, 1 is enough. But if I have a greasy hamburger, then I should take 2.
Also, I had heard Andrew say "up to 5 a day" and I liked the CN so much I wanted more, like something sweet in place of something that isn't good for you. I called his Customer Service people and I asked what happens if you go over 5 pieces. They said the "up to 5/day" refers to the limit of benefits you get from taking CN. Anything over 5 pieces a day will not benefit you any more than under that amount. Then she laughed and said: "Well, if you don't mind the extra calories taking more than 5 a day would give you, then you can do more, but it won't hurt you as far as any of the other ingredients that CN has."
The number of calories in each piece is 25, so that can help determine how many you may want in a day. I typically take 2 after lunch and 2 after dinner; and then I usually have another sometime during the day, by itself, just when I crave something sweet.
When I am using his Ultimate Oatmeal that already has CholestaCare in it, I don't need to take CN after breakfast. But many times I like to have steel cut oatmeal, and I could start taking 1 CN after breakfast, but I don't feel the need.
Hope this wasn't too much info! I am a big fan of the ChocoNuvo!

OMG ... thank you for sharing your experience! I appreciate your taking the time to do so. ![]()
However .... one thing seems odd.
Why do benefits suddenly stop at 5 pieces per day?
If I take 2 pieces daily wouldn't that be only half as effective if I was having four pieces per day?
Why wouldn't having ten pieces per day be twice as effective as five pieces daily? I must be missing something here, lol.
Perhaps this is Andrew's way of explaining this isn't just regular candy to gobble down any old time?

@Tinkrbl44 I understand what you are saying, and it seems logical that the benefits would just keep going on, no matter how much you take. But that is what the Customer Service people said.
So.......I made another call to Customer Service right now and I was told that the FDA states for some products/supplements (Vitamin B and C were mentioned) after you take a certain amount, your body doesn't get any additional benefits. It takes what it needs and then discards the rest. Every body is different, of course, so it depends upon what each person's needs are. Some may be able to take more; others, not so much.
Also, on the bottom of the side panel on the CN box it states: "According to the US Food and Drug Administration, consuming at least 650 mg of plant sterol esters twice daily with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1300 mg as part of a healthy diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Each ChocoNuvo square supplies 650 mg of plant sterol esters."
The statement says "....as part of a healthy diet....." and I believe that is why Andrew mentions to take two instead of one CN if you have a particularly fatty meal, like a hamburger.
Hope this helps! ![]()

Wow. I felt like a pig for ordering two 360-count but maybe I need another to get me through the year.

That is why in the past I have purchased FIVE of those big 360-piece bags in a year! I still had some left over from my purchase of CN in April, needing only two big bags this month. Probably in April 2025 I will order more before he quits selling them during the hot months.
But to be honest, I like to give some out to friends/family to try, and they end up purchasing some on their own after seeing how delicious they are.
