I was thinking to optimize my daily nutrition.
I do take excellent supplements and eat a heart-friendly plant diet.
My order came. Around 6 pm I took one tablet dissolved in water. No food after.
Yikes! Woke at 3:00 am horrid diarrhea, which lasted for hours. Never happened to me before.
Took me awhile to realize the ONLY thing different (completely heathy days before) was that tablet.
Started looking up the tiny-print additives:
MALTODEXTRIN
STEVIA LEAF EXTRACT
Turns out these can react very differently to people.
Which means, it doesn't matter that SOME people take them every day, others can have gastrointestinal reactions.
(Some research, also, that they might interfer with the chemistry of the Good Bacteria in our guts.)
Some people who had a reaction might not immediately realize it was 8Greens. Thinking something they ate. Something they are coming down with.
WORSE, if you give it to others in your family, you have a tolerant reaction, but someone else does NOT.
Does anyone have more information?
8Greens has been around so long that I assume someone posted about bad reactions . . .

Looks like, further research, the tiny print "other ingredients" mentions
SORBITOL
[yet another sugar substitute!}
which has gastrointestinal effects.
Wondering if @SilleeMee (a well-informed chemist) has information?

@1Professor I bet your bad reaction came from the Sorbitol. I can't tolerate it all, it messes with my stomach. I also read that Maltodextrin can spike insulin levels.

Yes, it's probably that sorbitol.

I remember when I was 17 and newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Russell Stover had sugar free chocolates and my boyfriend gave me a box for Valentine's Day. I had to break our date.🥺 Sorbitol really can make a person sick.🤢
The sodium alone in those gummies is ridiculous. When I saw Kerstin singing their praises popping a few into her mouth, it made me wonder if in her health coach business she is recommending them??😳

Tell me about it! My explosion happened in grocery store!
Wouldn't touch again with a ten ft pole.........dangerous stuff

@SilleeMee @fthunt @Trinity11 @piperbay + all
(With a YIKES for @fthunt !!) Thanks for confirmation!
Lucky for me I was able to ISOLATE the VARIABLE quickly.
That's the difficulty science and medicine: so many things could be causing something.
I took it at the end of the day, healthy days before, no prior food allergies.
I don't eat a lot of sweets, but will be eagle-eye for SORBITOL on everything!

I've been using 8 greens for years. I now use the gummies but used to take the tablets in water. I've never had an issue but thanks for the warning

Sorbitol is known for causing these kinds of stomach issues.

Sorbitol, or most of the other sugar alcohols, usually don't give me GI problems but it wreaks havoc on my bladder like crazy. Makes me feel like I gotta pee all of the time with it's overactive-bladder effect.
