I had not researched the story but he stuffed the child's mouth. Now that is unacceptable and where was the mother. Oh, I forget, that means nothing, some of these women will accept anything of the man is an athlete. This can't be the first time this happened.

There was a great point of VP -

A mom was arrested and sent to jail for letting her son play in a park. Another mom was arrested and jailed for keeping her 2 kids in a car while she applied for a job.

This guy beats his son, breaking the skin ALL OVER his body...and he makes millions.

Where is the justice????

Whipping kids is a Southern tradition. Black or white. I don't know any kids in their 60s or above who WEREN'T whipped with a little switch.

At some point - MOST people stop and say, "hey, that is not how evolved humans behave - I'll do better as a parent." Period the end. Appalling.

This is at least as bad as the Ravens player case. Punishment should be at least the same, if not more. But yet he's going to play on Sunday. That poor little boy.

Remember last year?

Adrian Peterson discovered his baby-mama in South Dakota had a boyfriend that beat her son...he was charged. It began TMZ worthy when the baby-mama told Adrian Peterson it was HIS son...his 2-yrold son he wasn't aware he had. The son died.

Fast forward today, Adrian Peterson is abusing his 4-yr son. Ironic, huh?! You would think the impact of his unknown 2yr old last yr would make an impression....but no.

Lots & LOTS of kids. 29 years old & fathered 7 children (TMZ).

He is noted for being extremely devoted to his religion. He tweets Bible quotes all the time.

Perhaps he needs to learn about relations outside of marriage? Or at least get a working knowledge about birth control?

We were switched as kids..

That does not make what this man did to his son right or legal. He beat his four year old son with a small limb of a tree!! How disgusting is that...I hope he goes to jail! CPS investigators have to follow all kinds of standards when investigating an alleged child abuse case. Many clues are - age of child, "weapon" used, past history of abuse, how often, what kind of injuries - bruises, break in skin etc. I can almost guarantee that this is not the first time this man has hurt this child! I hope he gets a very strict judge!!

Gosh I didn't know the whole story- excuse me please..

Of course..there is so much "stuff" in the news today!! Still, hitting a child is certainly not an appropriate way to discipline. I live in the same state as Peterson and most CPS judges are really strict! Hope this man goes to jail!! I worked for CPS for many years. Whenever I saw/worked with an abused child, I always thought...what could this child have done to deserve this beating? I never did get any answer that justified the harm done to any child. And I am talking about babies up through teens.....

Today, Peterson was REINSTATED to the team even though the beating caused open, bloody, wounds to the 4 year old. It was NOT a spanking - it was a BEATING. Where is the DA?? Peterson should have charges brought against him for physically abusing this child.

Having said that ----

the NFL doesn't care about what players do in their private lives -- they can murder, drive drunk, beat their kids, beat their wives, do drugs.....NFL only cares whether players play good football because that means there's $$$$ coming in.

Commissioner Goodell should have his cojones put in a vise.....and someone should tell him that denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Your post is a ridiculous statement.

Charles Barkley is known for his stupid comments. This one about "the south" is just another stupid, unfounded, uneducated comment.

Who is Adrian Peterson and what did he do to his son?

He is a grown man / NFL player who whipped his four-year-old son with a switch, breaking the skin and causing huge welts all over his legs. He stuffed leaves in his son's mouth to muffle the screams.

This is the little boy that was whipped....Adrian Peterson, Jr. The affection displayed in the picture paints such a different story.

Apparently, the NFL priority is:

1. men

2. dogs

3. women

4. children
