He is a grown man / NFL player who whipped his four-year-old son with a switch, breaking the skin and causing huge welts all over his legs. He stuffed leaves in his son's mouth to muffle the screams.
Esme - Don't you ever read or watch ESPN?
It was in the police report used to prepare the indictment for the grand jury.
Police reports are public documents.

I've told you before...no, I don't HAVE ESPN to watch. Read? Where are they in print?
And unlike you, I don't have time to pour over public records and I'm not on a bunch of news sites to get "breaking news."
The odd thing is...you have three jobs and still have time for this board AND all the news you bring to it.
I don't know HOW you do it!
Fascinating!!!

In other words a man weighing 250 lbs. and is 6'2" tall should be allowed to pull down his four-year old's pants and whip him to the point of bleeding and it's okay because it's the "culture."
Some of the "cultures" in Africa should then be okay too with this thinking.
ETA: I am referring to the circumcision of girls when they attain puberty. I meant it as a regional issue, not a racial one.
Really!!!!

While the camera is on him.
Apparently, the NFL priority is:
1. men
2. dogs
3. women
4. children
You missed "money," which should have been at the top of your list.

What rice did was just as bad but she was an adult. This is even worse then the rice scandel.Peterson should be banned for life.He also stuffed the boy's mouth with leaves while he was hitting him. This seems to be such a divided issue. I was watching CBS NFL coverage yesterday and heard Charles Barkley basically saying this happens all the time in the south. Boomer Esiason, on the other hand, said he thought Peterson should be banned from the NFL for life. I agree with Boomer on this one. This was a 4-year old child. Unbelievable to me what he did. I also just heard the Vikings are reinstating him today and he will play on Sunday.
The pictures of this little boy's injuries will show you how bad this "whippin" was....first the NFL gave him a 2 game suspension; then when they heard that the court case was not going to be heard until months later, they reinstated him because how can they punish him (and the team) without due process....OMG, the pictures tell you everything you need to know!!! Where is the mother of this child? Perhaps she is afraid of getting a "whippin" too....this little boy should be removed from this home!!!
As far as outrage, I am in California and for the past week the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson stories are dominating the reasonable talk shows I listen to. There is plenty of outrage.....I will be following this story with interest.
My opinion: we are letting our kids down; there are so many who are not parenting at all or who abuse their children....we are all the child within. Why can't this be understood?

espn.com has lots of information.
Why do you constantly bring up my life? It's none of your business...
If I can multi-task you should be able to also - with a topic of more interest than my work schedule.

When he returns from the visit the mother saw the injuries. The mother is the one who took the boy to the doctor. The doctor is the one who reported the injuries to authorities.
Hi bikerbabe,
I heard today that this guy doesn't want to say how many children he has produced. Doesn't think it is anyone's business is what I heard. Was surprised when I heard about the 2nd charge on a child the same age of 4. Is the mother of which you speak the mother of both of these 4 year olds?
Agree with you that what he did to this child should have no bearing on taking him away from the mother. If this is the woman he is living with and she condones this type of punishment? Then I am not sure. Kinda confused about this whole thing once I heard he had 2 kids that were 4 years old and punished both of them in the same manner.

I live in the same city in Minnesota that he lives. People here aren't impressed at all. No child deserves to have wounds like that from being hit with a switch or a hand or anything of any sort for any reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
