You might want to post this over on My Favorite Brand > NC

Neutrogena has an anti-residue shampoo which I use occasionally when I feel my hair is kind of listless and it really seems to do the trick. This might be one you could try to get rid of the build up. It seems pretty gentle also.

Back in the day when I was still using Wen I also used the Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo after every 4th or 5th shampoo. It really did the trick for making my scalp feel clean again so I also recommend you give that a try then go back to your Wen and see how it goes, I think you'll notice it working better again for you.

That happens to me too. About once a month I use shampoo just on my scalp and then follow with a full WEN cleanse on all of my hair including my scalp.

You've been given a lot of really great advice, so I'm not going to repeat all of it, lol.
A couple of things (1) have there been any changes to your medications, vitamins, diet, water source, etc? All of those can play a part in how your hair feels. (2) you might want to google scalp scrubs. I believe ChynnaBlue has posted about those before. You simply mix some form of "scrub" like sugar, brown sugar, oatmeal with oil (like jojoba oil) and apply to the scalp and massaging in well. Then, it can be cleansed out with your Wen. This might be a good option for you.

I don't have a need to use anything else with Wen since I have never experienced scalp build-up but I agree that you need to use a clarifying shampoo. If you decide to use a clarifying shampoo you also want to make sure that you purchase one that is gentle and color safe if you color your hair.

I use WEN CC exclusively, and I do overnight oil treatments couple times a week. I DO NOT have any build up. None. As the matter of fact, my hair and scalp are the cleanest they've ever been.
So, please forgive me, but I really do not have any valuable advice to offer for people who appear on Wen Board right on WEN TSV day with Wen build up or other Wen related problems.
But I do wonder a little, where are those former Wen users who lost their hair in clumps? Have not seen them this weekend. Yet. ![]()
