Hi Fellow Wenners, I got a letter, well, maybe a dear John letter or should I say dear Jane, LOL!  from QVC saying they are not gonna send Inside the Q anymore, I thought I was being drafted!  BOO HOO!  When I opened it, it didn't say...Greetings!  Okay, I'll knock off the funnies  ug.  They won't send it email either.  They said go to QVC's site and punch in "Inside Q" and you're there.  You can watch the show live, I saw but I can do that in front of the Tee Wee, like my husband calls it!  LOL!!!!  Anyway, I was never interested in the hosts but I know some are.  I just liked the magazine.  I told them when I got on the mailing list that EVERY company out there is clamoring to get their magazine in our mail box but yours, I can't get.  They laughed and put me on the mailing list.  Now, I've been oousted!  LOL!  I've been at Dooter's site too much!  LOL!!!  Anyway, what do you guys think?  I'm sure everyone got this announcement too.

Re: RECEIVED LETTER FROM QVC

By your title I thought you were going to say that you got THE LETTER from the Q...you know the one where you buy & cancel too much.

Yes I got a letter saying that there will no longer be a paper copy of inside Q.

Not buy OR cancel too much, buy AND cancel too often. The “bad customer” letter isn’t sent because you buy too much, it’s sent to people who order and tthen cancel repeatedly, causing a lot of processing problems with little profit. A few orders canceled a year is not the same as several such a week or month. I don’t know if the limit is defined, but if a person adds items to their account and cancels without completing the transaction time after time, they will be contacted by mail. I believe repeated orders and returns may get noticed as well.

Though  I don’t defend this QVC practice of sending a letter or closing an account, I do understand that QVC is in business to sell and satisfy so customers enjoy the products and the company makes money. It may seem that a cancelled order costs them nothing, but dozens of those add up to wasted customer service efforts and added processing costs. Loss of profit occurs since every order takes the item out of stock for others to buy or have to wait for. When you order, you reserve it. When you cancel, it may be released into stock too late for a sale to someone else.

Respecting the organization means you understand their policies. QVC is not entertainment on TV; it’s retail on TV. Like any store, if you don’t like the merchandise or the store policies, it’s not a good place for you to shop.

[ Edited ]

@77yangya - I too received a letter. I took it to mean they are not producing a hard copy any longer, they will just have an online version. It seems like more and more companies are going digital with their catalogs - it is quite expensive to produce a print catalog.

Re: RECEIVED LETTER FROM QVC

Yes, I received  a letter this week. Nothing to do with Wen. Just to confirm what they had mentioned in the November issue and stated again in the December issue. No more hard copy(I remember when you had to pay $12 a year to get it, so I did....) No more online either. A "digital" experience now online. Just like everything in life is beginning a digital experience. And yes, I did enjoy the magazine arriving each month, except when I had to chase it down with the Post Office or even QVC. But this year, no problems receiving in the mail.

Just an aside, as we were listenening to some old cassettes yesterday(long story) my DH showed me one that at first I did not recognize......... Holiday songs  - looking closer it was the QVC Holiday music cassette from 1997. Of the 26 hosts on it, only 10 are still hosts at QVC but it was nice to see the pictures on the packaging..........and they did a nice job with solos by some of the hosts who can really sing....

Yangya, I'd guess you dont stray outside the WEN forum too often. The stopping of the hard copy has been discussed on other forums for many weeks. In fact, many of us expressed surprise when we received the December InsideQ in the mail. Didnt expect it. Guess they decided to finish out the year.
