@HSB1204, I have not a lot of baby fine hair that is not 3-4 inches below my shoulders (more like 7 inches below my shoulders when it just been cleansed).

@bebe777 I'd be interested to hear if you can tell any difference if you added 30-40 pumps of mousse! I guess my mousse will last me quite a while if I continue using 4-5 pumps but oh well. Cat Wink At least even if I add more Wen mousse than usual it won't leave my hair all crunchy like regular mousse does!

@HSB1204, if you and @yisbuff2 can remember to remind me to do it a few days before the President's Day weekend, then I'm definitely up for trying in.

lol, I'll even let the two of you decide how many Moussie Moo pumps to go for... lol, did I just commit to that in print... and on the internet, where nothing ever gets erased.

@HSB1204 @FleaMktQn @sonechko @quadmimi and @yisbuff2, I wanted to mention one new added benefit that has come from using more Moussie moo.

Even with Wen CC, my hair (and my body) are naturally on the oily side... probably because I sweat 2-3 times as much as the average girl. Smiley Happy

So I really need to keep up my overnight oil treatments to really help balance my scalp's oil production.

What I've discovered is that by doubling my moussie moo -- by going from 5 pumps to 10 pumps -- the moussie moo does a better job of lifting the roots of my hair off of my scalp. When I run my fingers through my hair, say three days after my last cleanse, I can actually feel that there is oil production as the very beginnings of my hair. but because my hair is now pouffier (not a lot, but enough), my hair isn't lying flat on my scalp... and rolling in the natural oils on my scalp.

So while oil production is going on... it's not making my hair as oily as quickly, so I can cheat a bit. In fact, I just went a record week between cleansings (usually I need to cleanse my hair every 3-4 days). I cleansed my hair last tuesday and didn't cleanse my hair again until yesterday morning (tuesday). -- For the last three days, the back of the crown of my head was a bit oily... but not really. I could pouf it up and everything was fine. I did wear my hair up in a loose bun for the last 3-4 days... but it looked really cute.

@bebe777 That's amazing! I'd be happy if I could go even one day without cleansing but unfortunately I haven't been that lucky. My hair doesn't get oily as fast as it used to but I still have to cleanse every day.

@HSB1204, normalizing my oil slick oil production Is my very favorite Wen benefit. My hair used to turn into an oil slick inside of 18 hours. I always had to shampoo my hair in the morning (as opposed to the evening), just to get through the day.

The Wen Tea Tree (TT) CC, and then the overnight tea tree oil scalp treatments changed all of that.

Over time, I found that the overnight oil treatments were much more effective than the TT CC, so I just focused on the overnight scalp treatments and stopped using the TT CC. -- That said, if I get lax about doing the overnight scalp treatments, I start noticing increased oil production in 2-3 weeks. It's not a oil slick, but it means that I have to start cleansing my hair every other day (instead of every 3-4 days). One overnight oil scalp treatment (or maybe  two), very quickly normalized the oil production on my scalp again.

My best results are 1-2 overnight Wen Tea Tree / Eucalyptus Treatment Oil scalp treatment per week. While I haven't tried the other Wen Treatment Oils for my scalp, from everything I have read, the two key ingredients for your scalp (to normalize oil production) are jojoba oil and tea tree oil.

btw, what is your current regimen for balancing the oil production on your scalp?

I made an effort to use the comb today for each product (LI, SC, Mousse) and clean my hands off in between each, and it does seem to have helped. It occurred to me that I was splodging in all the leave in because my hair felt dry, when in reality it could be that it's not getting distrubuted through my hair enough. What's that you say? Isn't that what Chaz says about the comb? Yes, yes he does and once again, I have to learn the hard way Smiley Very Happy

I have mixed the SC and VM/ glossing serum. As Chaz says, the glossing serum makes your hair like buttah. It's amazing stuff. I've used it on my little girl's wild hair after spraying her hair with RM and at least with a 5 year old's head of hair (yes I've played hairdresser with her hair), I can almost straighten with just these two products and the round brush. Her hair's not super curly, more loose ringlets, but it does become "voluminous" very quickly.

BTW I checked CD customer service (lovely people) and the palm oil used in the glossing serum is ethically sourced. This is a big issue that came to light a few years back because a great deal of orangutan habitat was being lost to palm oil plantations. Just another reason to love Chaz and his crew!

@RipleyGirl, that's great that the modifications you just made to your leave in regimen give your hair better results. Smiley Happy

btw, in your post you said:

I made an effort to use the comb today for each product (LI, SC, Mousse)

and I was wondering if LI meant "leave in" and I was also wondering it the CC was part of your leave in?

I'm asking because a lot of people (like me) who have baby fine hair just cringe at the idea of putting CC back into the hair as part of the leave in... but it's the best way to get added moisture back into your hair (and then the styling creme seals it in).

I always use the 16oz Cleansing Conditioner bottles. Initially I could only use about 1/4 pump of CC, because more CC would weigh down my hair. After all my pre-Wen hair grew out, I found that I could use more CC as part of my leave in. These days I use between 2/3 of a pump and a full pump (less for the Restorative CCs because they have more CC in each pump... which I find frustrating). I pretty much go by feel, because my hair shows me how much it is absorbing each time.

I'm glad that washing your hands between each step seems to have helped. lol, it was my own idea and, when I first tried it, it even seemed a bit extreme to me... but it did product better results. My baby fine hair doesn't need any unnecessary extra product to weight it down and make it oilier more quickly. Smiley Wink

I don't use the Wen comb in between each new product application, but that's mainly because I don't have a lot of hair and it's all very fine. -- That said, I do remember Chaz mentioning this, so good for you for trying it. -- I'm going to give it a try next time... after all, why not because there's no down side. Smiley Wink

btw, are you applying your leave in to soaking wet hair while you are still in the shower... in order to get maximum product distribution?

Thank you so much for asking Chaz's customer service department about the sourcing to their palm oil. That's a big deal. Smiley Happy

Yay Chaz!!! Smiley Happy

@bebe777Yes sorry LI is leave in and I do use CC - must review Wen 101 abbrevations again!

I tried slightly wringing out my hair this morning. I have a hard time packing in all that product when my hair's dripping wet without it just dripping away, but then I also haven't tried the comb combined with "dripping wet". I imagine the comb removes some of the excess water.

I have a gallon of the BGT and when my hair was past my shoulders I've sometimes put probably the size of a walnut as leave in. Plus I only did one cleanse today and left it in for a bit (used WenMen oil last night).

I've also found that I can use more Wen in my hair, more leave in and more SC, which I find a little bizarre. I don't *need* to add more though, so I've never worried about it.

Chaz' stance on cruelty free products is one of the reasons I love the products.

@bebe777 That's pretty much how my hair was when I was using shampoo. I always washed my hair in the morning and by the time I was going to bed it was already an oil slick. After I switched to Wen my scalp doesn't  feel oily until the next morning so that's obviously a lot better. Maybe it just needs a little longer before I can skip a day.

I agree that the TT CC didn't really help much in terms of normalizing my scalp. I prefer to use BGT for my first cleanse. I do try to use the oils 2-3 times a week unless I have a crazy week with other things going on. I feel like the oils help but again, I'm just not at the point where I can skip a day yet. Just chiming in @bebe777 to say I would LOVE to see the Moussie Moo Maxium YOU! I'm up to between 20-30 as of today (12ish on the lower, 12ish on the upper, a few more in the middle). MOUSSETACULAR~!

@yisbuff2, lol, I'll be sure to let you know. Smiley Happy I just have to time it right so that it happens on a three-day weekend (probably a friday night). This is because, if I don't like it, I'll probably be too lazy to recleanse my hair. lol, so I'll just live with it through the weekend. President's Day weekend is probably the time to do it... if I can remember.
