Pawleys is a sleepy little town right outside of the Myrtle Beach area. There are a lot of nice restaurants right on the water/marshes, little botiques, etc but no major shopping outlets. More quaint and peaceful than Myrtle Beach imo. I would definitely say that it's a great place to relax and enjoy the beach.
