Haven't been there recently but was there several years ago. Are you renting a house boat to float around? That was the main activity there house boating. There was one store, one hotel, one outfitter who offered boat rides for a couple hours.
I don't know if its more built up now but Google will tell you.
If I was in that part of the state, I would check out Monument Valley where so many westerns were filmed. Beautiful, peaceful, serene & there's a little museum with information about the movie making. Right over the AZ/Utah border.

I visited that area about 20 years ago with my parents in their motor home. We took a spectacular trip on a large motorboat quite some distance to see Rainbow Bridge and also got a good look at Lake Powell and its magnificent canyons. Highly memorable trip.
Dad got on an elevator unescorted and actually went down inside the dam. I bet you can't do that anymore.
I've read you must have reservations to tour Antelope Canyon as they limit the daily visitors. We didn't do that; too much hiking, although I'd love to see it.
The town of Page is a few miles from the lake and is a nice, clean small town with motels and restaurants. It's in the desert and very hot in summer.
Rainbow Bridge is much higher and bigger than it appears here. We had to walk about 1/2 mile from the boat to see it. Due to low water leveIs, I hear it's much further now.

@hkrgrl. 8f you're in that part of the country, you should also visit Moab and Canyonlands National Park along with Dead horse Point State Park and the Arches National Park....my favorite part of the USA.

I used to travel to Page because of my employment. It was one of the locations I serviced in HR. I haven't been there since my retirement.
Page is a very nice modern city. Plenty of upscale hotels and restaurants. They have a Walmart supercenter and a hospital. Page was built due to the construction of Glen Canyon Dam. You should visit the visitor's center to learn about the history of the dam.
Vermilion cliffs is another place to visit.
I day trip to Kanab, Utah, might interest you. It's 74 miles north of Page. It had the nickname of Utah's Little Hollywood where western films were made, i.e., The Lone Ranger, Outlaw Josey Wales. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood filmed there. I think the filming set is still there as a trading post.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is in Kanab.
And, of course, the Grand Canyon is only about 100 miles from Page.

Keep in mind as you visit the national parks that thousands of employees that manned the parks have been fired. There will probably be longer lines to get in, the bathrooms won't be cleaned, and few park rangers.

@ScoobyDoo.
we know. we are just so upset by this turn of events! makes no logical sense but it does to a couple people.
we will be sure to thank everyone we meet along the way and give them encouragemen and gratitude for all their hard work and dedication to our beautiful National Parks.
we have been to quite a few and the Park Rangers are just an incredible resource, so full of knowledge and downright love for these gorgeous places. it really opens your eyes to fragility of nature and how we are only here for a short time and must be the stewards for generations to come.
Long Live the National Parks!!!
