I love packing cubes! I have been using them for years. For longer trips I pack items in separate cubes ie. tops in one, pants in another etc. For short trips I pack outfits together. It helps me keep everything organized and tidy. I like being able to lift the cube out and set on a shelf or in a drawer and so easy to replace your suitcase. I always pack an outfit and pjs in a compression cube in the bottom of my carry on for plane trips just in case luggage is delayed.

They newer ones are lighter weight than older styles which is important of your suitcase will be weighed.

@homedecor1 That sounds like a wonderful trip!   I have used packing cubes for quite a long time now , before they became popular.  I consider myself a professional packer, LOL!

First tid bit I would give you is do not overpack, especially going to a warm climate.

Packing cubes are a must!   They keep everything organized and help with keeping clothes from getting wrinkled.   Purchase the ones with mesh topping so the items can breathe and you can see what is in them.   I made the mistake of buying non see through once and it drove me insane having to open every one up all the time to see what was where........they are perfect for cruising as you can just take them out of the suitcase and plop in the drawers.  They even have hanging ones that are good for those tiny closets on the ships.

I wish you a safe and happy trip Smiley Happy

Thank you everyone!  I haven't been on a extended vacation in years and I'm sure I've "overpacked"!🤦‍♀️😉

I will be interested to see how the packing cubes work.  I ordered them but they haven't arrived as yet.

Have a great week and thank you all again😊

Yes, I love packing cubes and have gifted many sets. You have so much room in your luggage when using them. And it does help keep things organized like mentioned on here already.

I've never tried them.  For our cruises, I pack my shirts, on their hangers, directly in my suitcase.  When I get onboard, I just pick them up out of the suitcase and hang them up. I got tired and annoyed hanging everything on the hangers provided by the ship.

I wear mostly non-wrinkle stuff and don't worry about wrinkles in my clothing.

I just started using them last year when I went to Italy.  They were wonderful.  I am leaving Saturday for a cruise to Bermuda.  I did purchase GILI compression cubes for this trip.  I have everything that I am taking on my spare bed to be packed in the cubes.  I think I need to weed out a few things. Smiley Happy

I tried them once, but really found them to be far more trouble than they are worth.

I just use gallon ziplock bags for things like undies. Squeeze the air out of them, and you've got a very inexpensive "space bag".

Years of heavy travel for work have made me a very efficient packer.

I travel a lot. I just started using packing cubes the last 2-3 yrs. My suitcase has a great capacity & is nicely organized so everything stays in place. But, I put my socks, underwear, scarves & gloves in them. If I stay in a hotel, I just lift the cubes out & place them in the drawers. I don’t like putting my clothing in drawers that others have used. The rest of my clothes I hang up. I also organize my husband’s stuff as he’s always rummaging thru his suitcase trying to find black socks & other small items.

I don’t use compression cubes. I have dirty laundry & shoe bags so I don’t use packing cubes for that.
