Where on earth do you live?

I do not know anyone in greater Philly who plans a "trip" to Allentown--we just take a quick drive up there as it is only about an hour north on the PA Turnpike Northeast extension, OR you can avoid the tolls by taking some back routes, and connect via 309.

Therefore, you will have access to dozens and dozens of hotels, depending on how long you want to commute.

Okay, husband skis up there regualrly in the Winter (Blue Mountain ski resort), and sometimes I accompany him for a weekend. Most of the hotels are very similar--modern, somewhat dull chains, some with pools and breakfast.  Prices, cleanliness, and quiet may vary.

I have stayed in the Marriott Fairfield Inn Allentown West, and the Hampton Inn Bethlehem, both less than fifteen minutes to the Fairgrounds.  There are many, many other options.

If you want a more unique (and expensive choice), you can consider the historic Hotel Bethlehem (great location), or even the Sayre Mansion bed and breakfast.

Be aware there is a huge amusement park nearby, and many families travel and stay in the motels while visiting Dorney Park during the Summer.

If you really want a deluxe vacation, you can go a bit more North up to the Poconos mountains--they have many huge, lovely, and pricey full-service resorts, several with waterparks.

Safe travels!
