@OKPrincess You have been in the city on the weekend. Wait until you go in on Monday. Weekdays are totally different. More traffic, more people, much different than Oklahoma.
Seems like you have seen a lot already. You have been in midtown.
Based on your itinerary, another day you will be going downtown: Wall Street, World Financial Center, 911 Memorial (former World Trade Center site) South Street Seaport. Downtown the streets are very narrow. On weekdays, lunch time when people leave their buildings and 5:00 when people are going home, the streets are very crowded. Probably not as crowded as before Covid now that some are working from home, but a lot of people all around, including all the summertime tourists like your group.
I hope you and your group have a great day!

Day 5: 9/11 Museum and Memorial, One World Observatory, Chinatown, Times Square
I wish all my photos would load but several are too large. I will try to figure it out when I get home. Too tired at night 🤔

you two look so cute together!
hopefully the weather has turned nice and cooler , no humidity for a few days.
Enjoy every minute!
Today was a nice breezy day compared to yesterday. We had to peel our clothes off!! But look at the temps back home. This is nothing 🥵 We're loving it but thankful for the bus to do our driving.

@haddon9 wrote:@OKPrincess Did you get to go to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller center? The view is much better than the Empire state building.
Sounds like you had a very full day!
No we didn't go to the Top of the Rock and I'm not sure why not. We had some free time to wander but DH and I don't venture off to far. We watched the roller skaters in the Center having a good.
We can only do so much. That stroll through Central Park did most of in.

We have a Diamond Tours rep that steps on the bus each day. Tomorrow, our last day is Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Maybe fit in Wall Street too.
I sure don't see the traffic and people back in Oklahoma.
As we were heading back to our hotel tonight, the traffic was backed up for miles. Where do they all go and where the heck do they park?
Better get to bed. Everything aches 🫣

@OKPrincess I have wondered myself where they all park. Most people take the train from NJ (I drive to a station in NJ and take a train in. I would never drive in NYC myself).
Have you gone to the 9/11 Memorial? I found it very interesting and somber seeing all of the names. I didn't know him but my cousin's brother in law was one of those who perished so I had to see his name when I went to visit a few years ago.
Enjoy your visit to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island! I've been up to the crown of the Statue three times....once when I was 9 with my parents, another time in the 1970s with an old boyfriend (before the renovations and it was in bad shape then) and the last time with my kids in the 90s when they were in elementary school. At that time it looked much better since they renovated and cleaned it up in the 1980s.
It's not a bad walk up but it is a slow spiral climb and you can see the hollow insides of the statue. Once in the crown it's a nice view overlooking the harbor. Ellis Island is fascinating!
Think of all of the walking as a great workout!

We will do our best to go up to the crown. That indeed will be fascinating.
Yes we went to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum yesterday. We will never forget that day either. Took a picture with The Survivor Tree but the photo was too large to post. I'm posting what is acceptable size and go on to the next one.
If you've ever been to the OKC Murrah Building bombing site there is also a surviving tree (I hope it's still there).
Better get ready for our last day.

@OKPrincess The week has flown by and it sounds like you have another busy day ahead!
I'm glad you got to visit the 9/11 memorial & museum. No, I'm afraid that I have never been to the OKC Murrah Building. I can remember that awful day when it happened. I had just arrived visiting my parents at their place in Fl at the time. We were all so shocked. It's interesting that they also have a survivor tree. Another sad situation.
On a better note, I hope you have good last day!
I'm enjoying seeing your photos!

@OKPrincess Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I've only been to NYC once as an adult. It was during the Christmas season, and we did not make it to the 9/11 memorial. Thanks for the pictures! I enjoyed reading your daily updates. Hope it was fun for both of you.

@OKPrincess I bet you are exhausted. You got to see a lot during the few days you were in NYC. I hope you feel that the trip was worthwhile.
Have a safe and restful bus ride back to OK.
