After DH and I retired in 2016, we planned to travel around the country to places we've never been or it's been a long time. Will be my first time to the east coast and NYC for both of us.
Our favorite way to travel is by bus tours. So far, we have gone on Village and mostly on Diamond Tours.
At the end of the month, we are traveling to NYC with a group out of Emporia, KS with Diamond Tours. Apparently there are a lot of people wanting to go because there's two buses.
We will be visiting Midwest Museum of American Art, Plaza Centre Antique Gallery, Das Dutchman Essenhaus, Historic Bellefonte Shopping District traveling to/from NYC.
We are staying in Edison, NJ four nights.
Over the course of three days, we will have a tour guide: the new 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, Grand Central Station, World Financial Center, the South Street Seaport, China Town, Little Italy, Greenwich Village and Fifth Avenue. Some free time at Herald Square and Macy's. One World Observatory, Statue of Liberty Island and Ellis Island.
Some places we're eating: Dallas BBQ, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, La Reggie Banquets & Events Dinner Buffet and Entertainment. Most lunches are on our own.
This is our proposed trip in a nutshell. All hotels and admission fees are prepaid.
Third times a charm to go to NYC. The pandemic cancels our first.

Have a wonderful time. I am sure that you will love NYC, there is no place like it.

@OKPrincess I hope you do get to see a show?
That sounds like a great trip.
Please, let us know how it was when you get back!

@OKPrincess If you have the opportunity, see a Broadway show. It is a magical experience. There is a booth in Times Square that sells available tickets (TKTS) for that day at a reduced price. Have dinner at Sardi's before the show. It is part of the Broadway experience. It is worth the price of the meal to feel its history and see the walls of famous show biz personalities.

@On It It's not on the itinerary so we won't be able to go. Would be awesome though.

A broadway show is not on the itinerary so I doubt we get to see one. Who knows?
I'll try to post something at night when I can.
We can't believe we're going finally. We both turn 70 this year so what a treat.

@OKPrincess WOW! Seems like a great trip!
That's a lot of stuff in 4 days.
Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes.
I hope you have a wonderful time. When you are on Fifth Ave, try and stop in Tiffany's. You might want to treat yourself to Sterling Silver bracelet as a souvenir of your trip. Tiffany's just reopened after being closed for renovations. The Sterling Silver items on on one of the upper floors not the main floor.

@newjerseygirl I'm not sure if we'll have free time or not on Fifth Avenue. We have three full days to do all these many things. Not sure which places we walk or ride by. One thing for sure is we won't be napping 💤 each day.

@OKPrincess You might consider skipping something on your itinerary to see a show. Matinees are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seeing a show at night would be complicated by your hotel being in NJ, thirty minutes outside of Manhatten. Complicated, but not impossible.
