I need to take a jacket or hoodie for evenings on a cruise ship.  I have no idea how cold it might be.  What do you suggest?  Thanks.

It all depends on where you are going, to Canada or Alaska yes, the the islands a wrap will work

Where are you starting from and going to?  The ships are pretty much the same. It’s the locale that determines your comfort. Give us a hint and you can get advice.

It's air conditioned, otherwise outside it depends on where you are going.

I have taken many, many cruises.

For me, it doesn't matter where you are sailing from or going to.

The ships are FREEZING!  I always had a wrap/cardi/hoodie for every outfit I wore.  My DH was fine, I was cold everywhere.

If you want to be on deck while the ship is moving, it is very breezy; very cool and breezy at night.

The only time I didn't cover up was when I was sunning (with SPF 50 of course).

The restaurants, theatres, lounges, shops every where onboard was much too cold for me.

For excursions, a light jacket you can easily remove would be a good choice.

But that's just me...I am always cold!

My cruises have always been to tropical destinations and a good cardi still served me well.

It does depend on where you are going and what time of year. We are leaving from Tampa  for a partial Panama canal cruise on Friday. I'm probably going to take a windbreaker-type jacket - no lining. My shirts and blouses I wear are normally short sleeve or elbow length. 

If we were leaving from Charleston in October or November, I'd take a heavier jacket - sometimes when we've gotten back to port in the early morning, it's been in the 20s-30 temperature wise.

If you're going somewhere tropical, take a light wrap or cardigan for evenings.  Alaska or somewhere in the north, you'll need a coat.  I don't say this to frighten you but on your stateroom tv they will broadcast the emergency procedures to follow.  They tell you to wear warm clothing in the event that you need to evacuate.  That said, you might want to pack a hoodie, warm pants, and gym shoes too.

Cruised the Caribbean in February.  Didn't take a jacket or sweater and never needed one except when I got back to home airport.  It was hot.

We leave San Diego and go to South America then back up to Miami.
