We usually do Disney World when we vacation in Florida. Is it worth going to Busch Gardens....or will the Grandkids be disappointed since Disney has spoiled them....

I took my son to FL when he was younger.  We did Disney first then went to Busch Gardens.  It was anticlimactic.  And hotter than a pistol.  If it's separate trips it would be ok.  Or do Busch first.  Cypress Gardens was beutiful but the kids might be too young to enjoy.

I think it would be a let down.   How about Seaworld?  Or a ride to Daytona Beach for a beach day.  There are lots of things to do in the greater Orlando area.

I am not going to Sea World ever again.  Too much walking for too little to do and see. We live in Chicago area and the Shedd has more fish than Sea World.  Our two boys had  a great time there but that area can be a separate trip.

Busch and Disney are totally different types of parks.  If your grandchildren like roller coasters they will enjoy busch.

They also have a train ride around their Serengeti area where you can see animals up close.  I recommend going later in the day.  The animals are out because they know it's close to their feeding time.

There are also many walking trails where you can get up close and personal with wild animals.  There is a truck ride (additional purchase) that you can take out into the Serengeti and feed the giraffe.

There are daily shows throughout the park. If  you go, check their website.  They often have outside musical performances free of charge.

The p;ark is very pretty and clean.  The food is good and reasonably priced.  If you go, enjoy the park.  We love both Busch Gardens and WDW,.

@Nataliesgramma @rcfan  Great post!  Busch Gardens is worth the trip. @rcfan has explained what to expect. My son grew up going each year. I encourage you to go. Our entire extended family was there in May following a family wedding. Grandson loved it; so did the grooms much younger nieces and nephews. Enjoy your trip!

6 and 8....We are still going to Disney....I thought a few days somewhere else might be fun... since the kids are a little older......I even suggested Universal...

I didn't care for Universal.  Very technical about how they make movies.  Takes the fun out of seeing them!

Busch Gardens is mainly animals and thrill rides.  Not the easy rides like Disney.

Really, you just can't beat Disney World for any age!

I live in SW FL and have visited all the parks when my kids were growing up and a few years ago my daughter worked at Busch Gardens.

Since the grandkids are 6 and 8 I wouldn't bother with Busch Gardens.  It is better suited to those old enough for the thrill rides.

Legoland would be my choice for that age group.  The old Cypress Gardens was bought and made into this park located in Winter Haven, a short ride from the Disney area.
