Going on a trip to Budapest and Vienna in a few weeks.

Any tips on what to do, etc.  We will be going by train from Budapest to Vienna.

I too don't have any tips, but I absolutely loved both places. It was many years ago. I think going by train would be so great! Please be sure to report back to all of us.

Great plan! Budapest is warm and friendly, great food, decent wine. Try to visit an operetta for real musical fun ( if you like it ). Google it. Also Budapest has good mineral spas with all kinds of treatments and massages. Try Rick Steves book on these cities, even your library has it, also chats on TripAdvisor are very helpful.

Vienna is nice, you see that it is used to be very royal some time ago.... not anymore though. But still lovely. Apple strudel and cheese strudel are a must. Museums are nice. Parks are nice. It is hard to advice without knowing your interests.

So enjoy,and read the info.

@katiemichelle

Thank you for refreshing my memory.  I've replied countless times to her numerous vacation inquiries.  She never responds.

I wonder if she ever goes on these vacations?

I remember the thread she started where she wanted everyone to tell her where she could go for a quick beach weekend that would be a non-stop from Philly. I don't think that one ever happened either, but from reading other threads, it seems she works for a major airline! Hello!!!! Look in your own system! Or use Expedia. I don't get people who expect others to do their research for them.

TO THOSE WHO ARE ASKING.....

No, we did not go to Santorini.....I have two free round trips to anywhere in the world, and we decided NOT to go to Greece, but to go to BUDAPEST AND VIENNA instead.  Going in a few weeks.

And yes I really go on most of the vacations that I ask about.  I am in the travel business and get to go on most trips pretty much free, if you are wondering.

Also need info on Kennebunkport Maine, which I will be going to soon.

GEEZE!!!!

Well, if you're in the travel business, why are you asking us to do your research for you? I would think you'd have tons of info readily available to you.
