I have been to Amsterdam and it's a very nice place.  Be mindful of the bikers as they have the right of way and are not obligated to stop for pedestrians, crazy but true, LOL!

I f you like art you should visit the Vincent Van Gogh museum, even if you are not an art person you will enjoy it very much as so many of the paintings will be familiar.   Also Keukenhof Gardens is a must see!   Not sure when you are going but I believe they reopen in March.  It is the most beautiful garden I have ever seen, it goes on and on as far as the eye can see!

Have a wonderful trip!

Amsterdam is considered the "tulip capital of the world"because the Netherlands, where Amsterdam is located, is widely recognized as the leading producer and cultivator of tulips globally, with large tulip fields surrounding the city and a significant annual tulip festival celebrated there.

Late March to mid May is the time to visit Amsterdam if you love tulips!! EnjoySmiley Happy

@Jrzgirl   That was the most memorable part of Amsterdam for me.  And yes I did shed tears.

We will be visiting this Summer. As well as all the Amsterdam sites we hope to see the Hauge in Rotterdam, Delft, and maybe take a day trip to Bruges.

Happy travels!

@Traceybakes

Agree 100% with @LindaSal if you like art the Van Gogh museum is a wonderful 3-story experience.

Also the Rijksmuseum the largest art museum in the county has classic Dutch Masters paintings.  Definitely worth a trip if that is the period you like.

The chocolate milk is amazing lol.  Any chocolate is good there.

Maybe organized walking tours are great but it is such a friendly walkable area that you can discover the architcture, shops etc on foot on your own.

The red light district was a tourist destination, not sure if that's the case any longer.  Gals in windows showing their wares so to speak.
