I'd like an accurate explanation regarding TSV, when I purchase additional minutes, does it include triple text and data, or only talk?

Thank you

It triples all three.

There are a lot of answers here on the blog post. People have been asking questions and getting answers all day.

The only people who don't like these phones are our Gov't, since they cannot track where you are and who you are.

Second, I would of upgraded my phone but the TSV has a shipping charge attached to it...what? I've always bought mine from HSN and shipping has always been free, guess I'll wait for them.

Third, it is cheaper getting a new phone every year, you need to buy a $99 activation card and for that price, you can transfer your minutes, get another year of activation and get more minutes.

ITA, better deal to just get a new phone and I will wait for HSN to do it with free shipping.

BEWARE

I ordered 2 of these phones

but now reading the blog below (thanks betteb!)

I need to have AT & T service in the mountains, grrrr, SO these phones will not work...even though zip code says OK

I NEED A PHONE WITH A "G" AT THE END OF THE MODEL #, this one has a "C"

FROM BLOG QUESTION:

First time on a blog ... I could not figure out how to ask a guestion so I hope someone will help me out. The Hosts have said the phone gets service from two providers, one is Verizon. Who is the second carrier. I bought the TSV Samsumg Centra last year but had to return as I have no Verizon coverage in my area. (The Tracfone "check zip code" said I would get coverage but after purchase Tracfone customer service said the cell tower was too far from my home.) Thank you in advance for helping out a novice blogger.

FROM BLOG ANSWER:

This phone/service operates on CDMA (Verizon is the wireless network). If you have GSM service like AT&T or T-Mobile - check out any TracFone that has a "G" at the end of the model. This particular phone has a "C" for LG39C as the model number which signifies, CDMA coverage and usually Verizon. Zip code coverage check is not a 100% accurate as service can vary. Sorry! Sounds like this phone may not be an option for your service area.

The LG840G is a good option Ann Marie. It does have internet capabilities but it's not really a true smart phone.

Just search LG840G here on qvc to look at it.

This is my third Tracfone. I was getting ready to have to buy minutes, and it was cheaper to buy the newer phone (I bought it at HSN). Got triple minutes for life, and it rolled over my leftover minutes, plus easy to activate for me online.

I have travelled with it and it has always had coverage. I am not a really heavy user. Just mainly text teenage grandchildren and make calls when needed. I use it for long distance. Now, I don't search for info. often--it will eat up the minutes. And it has proven to be a bargain for me (rather than a contract offering.)

Thanks I will!

You saved me so much frustration & money as I wouldn't have known they didn't work in the mountains until May/June & it would have been too late to return

I changed my order to ""check status"" & will probably cancel these 2 phones after I talk to my husband....we have a small summer trailer in the mountains & Verizon doesn't work there

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I bought my mother a tracfone for Christmas 2012. It came with triple minutes. I just bought her another as her time expired. She had 1200 minutes left and I was told that if she activated her new phone before the expiration of her old phone, the remaining minutes would carry over. I activated the new phone online (very easily) and the minutes did transfer over and were added to the new ones. Not a bad deal at all! My mom does complain of dropped calls occasionally but it is perfect for her needs or an emergency.

DH still has a contract, but I have the LG840g and it's perfect for my needs. I don't need to be tethered to the thing, but I do like to check news occasionally. For that, I've bookmarked a number of mobile-friendly sites, and they load perfectly to fit the screen. Also, I've disabled the web images, and that really saves on data usage as well as battery life.

I did order the TSV, and I know I'll like it. I've never had a problem activating (I do so via the 800 number so I never speak with anyone), and have never had a dropped call or problem with the phones.

Also, for those who aren't a fan of that light blue interface background (that'd be me), don't forget to move up to 9 icons to the shortcut screen--that way, you can change set a wallpaper or use the colors.
