Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

We aren't supposed to cook directly on real copper, anyway.  From what I recall a hundred years ago.......lol.   They have to be lined (with tin, years ago) or something else.  I had tons of them, but they were always looking bad, so they're in my basement somewhere, or 'sticky hands' took them.  lol again.  Anyway, these aren't real copper, and I'm guessing that they are coated with ceramic? or something else.  I wouldn't mind a fry pan, but this one is very deep; great for deep frying, it seems.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@nomless

I don't know what it's made out of but I do know it's not conducting heat well at all. Watch a presentation and you'll see what I'm talking about. Midnight's presentation was a bit of a disaster

Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

I can't remember where I read this but I read that the RED COPPER PAN from the informercial needed to be seasoned first.   I can't imagine why if it's a non stick coating.

Anyone else read this?

Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

Does anyone know whch brand brand of copper frying pan it was? It looked like magic LOL!

Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

I can only tell you that I mistakeningly ordered the red copper pan thinking it was the the copper chef one.  I have a glass stove and when it arrived I was so excited to get it. I already had a set of the copper chef frying pan and orginal one with all the accessary.  Thefirst thing I saw was dont ever use on a glass stove.  I literally got scratched on my hand taking out of box.  The bottom is got groves on it and they were sharp.

The real copper chef doesnt have the ridges but the flat bottom and does cook evenly and I have a really nice glass stove and keep it sparkleing clean after using it.  I would be very upset if these pans scratched my stove.  I called them and they refused to take them back and offer a discount to 50% to keep them.  I cant tell you where I bought them because of reasons but they were not the real copper chef product.

My neighbor has a regular stove not glass and electric grill so we gave them to them to cook with.  So I am not saying their a bad product but I wont use on my glass stove.

I can tell you that my fryer handle broke two days after using them.  I called the company and I waited for severa days to get it replaced.  I didnt want to wait anymore so I found Eric Theiss and contacted him personally and he got it replaced immediately. I was surprized that he actually dealt with the small problem and I have contacted other times now to just say thank you and hi and he reply back.

I can only speak of this pan :  I beleive it is better then others I had in the past from highly professional chefs on TV.  I have used them everyday since they arrived and dont use any of the other pans I have anymore.  They do what they say.  I have fried in them, cooked in them.  They have been in my dishwasher almost every night after using them.  They still look brand new and its been months.

try them and give them a chance.  If you dont like them send them back.  I also paid for one pan the price they are offering tonight on here for one orginal one.  I just brought two more larger ones for that price.

I am looking ath the webpage right now as I type from my phone:  three payments of $24.99 and taxes. This doesnt cover the press either.  24.99 times three times = 74.99 and now taxes and the press price which is not even listed on there.

Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

As far as chipping depends on how hard you are on the pan.
I have had one and no issues. Be careful of the type of nonstick that your pan has.
I now have all stainless pans except for copper pan, ceramic and Viking 5 ply with non stick.
The square copper pan husband uses it to cook sausage on Sunday
It is lighter and easier for me to clean and no need to place in dishwasher.

Re: RED COPPER PAN VS. COPPER CHEF PAN

In my. Opinion whether the cookware is Copper Chef, Red Copper, or Gotham Steel, you are just buying another form of low stick or non stick cookware that will start sticking or burning sooner or later just like teflon. You are buying pans with a painted copper finish. It is not real Copper. The one thing that I do like about the Copper Chef line is the square shaped casserole and as a caller recently requested I too wish they would offer a casserole pan in the same dimensions as the 9.5" skillet. You really do have more cooking surface in a square pan and the double casserole handles take up much less space on your stove.
