Hi ladies, I watched the infomercial on Cathy Mitchell's Red Copper Pan and then the Copper Chef pan on QVC. Cathy uses a fork in her pan to show that it is scratch proof and also uses a hand-mixer to stir some food in it saying that it has anti-scratch technology. I noticed that the QVC pan says to only use plastic or wooden utensils on their's. The sizes are slightly different also. I was wondering if maybe the Red Copper Pan is a little more durable and made of tougher materials than the QVC pan? The Red Copper pan is $59.99 with frre S&H and comes with everything the TSV does. The main thing I'm interested in is the fact that Cathy shows that you can use metal utensils which I like rather than a pan you have to 'baby' and can scratch easier. Any opinions?? Thanks so much
When the TV one first came out I saw them for $12.98 at a local drug store. I looked it over but no buy here. Copper seems to be the new in-thing. Read on here Q's has been known to chip shortly after purchasing.
Just scroll down your TVs guide and you will see infomercials that show regularly on several channels at the same time and many of the same products are sold on QVC. Depending on the package and what you need the informercials and the products own website can sometimes be a better deal.
I don't fry much anymore...I use my cast iron skillet if I fry chicken or fish which I do occasionally. I don't see I need another pan to add to all my other pans.
@irsheyes45, a local TV station recently aired a "does it work" segment that tested the Red Copper Pan against the Gotham pan and a traditional non-stick at a culinary school. The Red Copper Pan did the worst.
