Why not just buy one large bag of chips and doodles, put them into your littlest lock and lock containers or somesuch to make small little portions like NS.....buy two boxes of whatever "healthy" bar you like ( same number as what's in this kit) and separate them into the days of the months.....

The list of what's in the kit shows how much of each of this wonder food you get in this packup...it ain't no 299.00 worth!!!!

You'd leave the store with 250 bucks still in your pocket!!!

The rest of the shelf stable stuff looks like you could make ANY of it at home, very quickly.

Add some whole eggs, Sliced turkey, whole wheat bread,  salads, tomatoes, , fruits, veggies, milk, (all  the extras they want you to buy in addition to NS and eat) and voila....same thing as this for a fraction of the price!!!

Also FYI...the Nutrisystem booklet of foods you have to buy to supplement the chemicals is online.."Nutrisystem Grocery Shopping Guide".....you can read what you have to buy.

The list is long.

The list is all the foods people DON'T buy because they're....get ready for it....REAL FOOD that they STILL have to prepare!!!!

To me....why not just buy the  real foods they recommend to supplement  and skip thier chips, doodles, bars, cookies, buns and eat healhy REAL food altogether????

Seems simple enough to me!

I just started intermittent fasting. It’s only day 3 and I can feel that it is working. No eating for 16 hours ( only water, tea, coffee, no milk, sugarless drinks). 8 hours eat whatever you want. It’s not that hard, surprisingly. I stop at 8 pm and start eating at 12 pm next day.

Re: Nutrisystem Good?

[ Edited ]

I went on Nutisystem back in 1979 right after I delivered a baby.  I had to stop breast feeding to be accepted into the program.  There was several nurses working at the center.

The food was low carb, low fat back then.  I had to take potassium tablets everyday and get weighed at a center and get blood work, a urine test and EKG weekly.

I also attended a class after the medical tests and bought my food weekly from the center.

The food was okay, but some it was truly good.  Some came in pouches to heat up, some needed to be mixed with water to rehydrate it and some was in a can you just opened and heated up.

Veggies had to be purchased at the grocery store, and they sold salad dressing in small plastic packs. There was this awful orange drink..yuck!

I lost a lot of weight, quickly.  But, then my weekly EKG's started to show trouble.  I was sent to a cardiologist who make me go off of the diet immediately.

I was in bad shape and almost was hospitalized.

Since then, the diet changed. Too many people got medical problems from it.

I tried the new plan twice afterwards.  The food is now very high in carbs....and it is cheap ingredients.  The last time, I needed up throwing most of the food out.

I am not a picky eater, but it was awful, except for a few items, plus it was not complete.  I still had to grocery shop.

I am now gluten-free due to wheat allergies, so that diet is out of the question.

I wouldn't recommend it.  And, it irks me to no end when they say they have been offering this diet plan for 50+ years.

No, not this diet plan.  They had too many people become sick with their original plans.

Sorry, but I find it hillarious that some responders are saying NS is processed food so they wouldn't eat it. Yet, I bet many of them buy frozen dinners, chips, artifical colored beverages, & bakery at the grocery store. Also resturants serve a lot of processed food. You're on a whole food diet? Where you cook everything from scratch? I bet not!

I cook from scratch.  I freeze and can my own fruits and veggies.

I don't eat gluten, but cook for my husband and make homemade pasta and bread and bakery items.

I do buy some processed items, but not many.  I am not the only one.  There are many " from scratch" cooks.

We also don't eat resturant foods unless we are on vacation or out with others.  No fast food at all...ever.

I have tried Nutrisystem.  I would rather eat dog food.  It is expensive and awful.

The $299.00 is only for 22 days. You have weekends off. So, by the time you add all the extras you need for this so called healthy diet plan, it probably totals close to $400.00 per month for one person.

I tried it when it first came out. It was the worst food I ever ate. I lasted one month and sent the other box back. It was tasteless and I think eating grass would have been better.

Maybe they improved by offering a different system but it doesn't look appealing to me.

I am alone and cook for myself most of the time. I am not a big fan of going out to eat. Most food at restaurants doesn't taste good.

I think the best plan was Richard Simmons' Deal.A Meal. It was easy to follow and you ate real food. It taught you how to eat and portion size. Too bad he has disappeared from public view. I always felt he cared about people.

@elated You are right. I met Richard Simmons once and he IS the sweetest guy.

I just bought the TSV. I think it will help me. After I retired, I became a tax preparer, so for the next 3 months until April 15 I will probably be working 12-16 hrs a day 7 days a week and won't have time to shop or cook. I barely have time to shower. I usually gain weight during tax season but maybe this time I will lose it. I tried this before many years ago and it helped. I hope the food doesn't taste too cardboardy, but I'm not too picky, and at this time of year, convenience is everything to me. So wish me luck!!! I am trying to stay POSITIVE.

I don't think this TSV is selling well. The popup said only 1,205 people bought the autodelivery version as of 8:30pm.

I have done intermittent for over ten years.   I am never hungry and have tons of energy.  It's not hard to follow at all.  Just need to find what hours work for you and then go for it.
