FYI be aware, I wanted to exchange a petite dress for the regular length. Couldn't do a free exchange because they give each length different item numbers. Same dress just different length. I got charged s/h both ways. Would have to make new order for reg. length. This is a way to get around a free exchange.

I can understand where they stand on that. I've ordered regular size and then realized I needed a petite and it was not a free exchange because of a different item number. It stinks but it's they way they do it.

I don't think it's a way to get around their free exchange policy because I have done many exchanges. I think it's more of an inventory/computer issue. With that said, I do think they should do an exchange if it's the same item regardless if it's petite, average, plus size or tall.

They said you could exchange for size and color.  I thought I remember hearing it had to be the same item number.

I can understand that, it makes perfect sense.  If two things have different item dumbers....they are not the same item.   So, you cannot do an exchange.

It's the same dress. If I wanted a different color or size then why not a change in length. I know a different item number is assigned to each length but that's my issue. Why do this for the length.

Also I am only informing people so they know that if ordering a petite and think they'll be able to make a free exchange for a regular they won't be able to.

I think that's bogus.  When you watch QVC live, they show the garment and they tell you it's available in petite, regular, tall, whatever the case may be.  On screen, there aren't different item numbers.  They show them all under one item number.  The availability guide shows all garments again, as if they are under one item number.

If they can offer regular and wide width shoes, regular and wide calf boots and all the iterations that go along with that, under one item number, there is no reason why they can't do the same for petites, talls and average in clothing.

The other morning, a host was presenting a pair of pants.  I can't remember which host it was but it was one of the new ladies.  She talked about free exhanges and specifically brought up that it worked if you ordered the wrong size, color or if you ordered regular and decided you needed petite.

I got charged because the item was sold out so no exchange.  No more Q clothes for me.
