I always love so many aspects of it, and can rarely resist watching it when it's aired. The art direction is a big part of that. But many other things come together well.
Bette is subtle, fits her poet role to a "T". And agree, @Johnnyeager , the young Janis Paige is perfectly cast as the spurned, delectable, pouty young secretary.
Ideal also, is the unsung John Hoyt as Bette's sometimes acerbic, but basically kind, "perennial bachelor" friend. He's a character player I love stumbling upon, whether it's in a noir classic like "The Big Combo" (where he stuns in another small role), or even something like an old Perry Mason episode...
