I live in suburban NYC, I have seen the show several times during my life. Its still a thrill go to Radio City.
When I was a kid, Radio City showed movies and also had a stage show, its only in the last 20 years or so that it has become mostly a concert venue.
My parents liked to take us at least once a year. We saw either the Christmas show or the Easter show. And we would also check up tourist stuff while we were in NYC.
UNTIL, one year (it was still while they were showing movies) we were sitting and watching a racy preview. I will never forget it was for the movie David and Lisa and they were in bed "enjoying each other's company". Well, my Mom was not thrilled while she sat with her 7, 8, and 11 year old kids (approximately).
That was the last time we went to Radio Music Hall.
