SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, Sunday on TCM, 8 Eastern

Sleepless in Seattle (1993)is on TCM Sunday night, 8 Eastern (5 Pacific).  I think most of you have seen it but if not, it's well worth your while. I watched this one along with When Harry Met Sally a couple of days ago (I own the DVDs).  Really fun!

Since most everyone has probably seen it, I am really mentioning it because in one scene, the movie The Dirty Dozen (1967)is mentioned, and you now have the opportunity to get all caught up.

TCM, tomorrow, July 20, at 5:15 Eastern (2:15 Pacific).

Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Victor Garber, and Ross Malinger as Jonah

discussing An Affair to Remember (1957) and having some fun with The Dirty Dozen.

The real houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle from Hooked on Houses. It reportedly sold for more than 2 million in 2014. At over 2000 sq ft, is the largest home on Lake Union:

Re: SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, Sunday on TCM, 8 Eastern

Love the movie Sleepless in Seattle.  I have a sleep T with that phrase on it.  Have had it for years and I am guessing I got it there as I have been there several times.  I really love Meg Ryan's long blonde hair and how she braided it in the back in the movie, so pretty.  I was sorry when she cut it all off.

And in the movie, I always wondered how he could afford that house.  Maybe the deceased wife had a lot of life insurance?  Maybe there was some sort of lawsuit surrounding her death?  Just me thinking out loud, or rather, thinking through my keyboard.

My late DH took me to see that when it came out. He really really liked it. For me it was just okay.

Thanks for the information. At least being on TCM will eliminate the constant interruption of commercials stretching a two hour movie to three hours. I’ll probably watch even though I’ve seen it more times then I remember!

Yes, but he was fairly young when he bought that place (in the movie).  Just me thinking too much about it.  I would be scared to live on the water like that with a young child. I know he was not a toddler, and rather small for his age, but still, I would be nervous about an accidental drowning.  And didn't Tom Hanks run outside to the water first when they couldn't find Jonah?

@GingerPeach  Thanks for posting.

I love this film and can never decide which of the two Hanks/Ryan films I like better: this one or You've Got Mail.  I think I like the latter better (Jonah at times gets on my nerves in this film) but they are still both great films.  RIP Norah Ephron who wrote great movies!

Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping ,and When Harry Met Sally are my favorite romantic movies. I have seen them multiple times and never tire of them. Thanks for the reminder.

@texassunflower  Did you know that, on newsstands now - is a special 30th anniversary edition of People magazine on the movie When Harry Met Sally?  (which is now 30 yrs. old)
