I evidently missed a couple critical episodes, why is she gone? I enjoyed her character, a woman just as tough as any man, with no apologies for it.

I remember that head bad guy talking to her. She's still alive. I don't know why they are keeping her alive, but she was alive.

I think they're going to do a couple of flashbacks in which Taraji will appear until Empire returns.
