So is Jack Davenport Dr./Mr. Powell?
Yes, Jack Davenport is Powell.
Just started watching another cancelled show with another Coupling alum: Crossbones starring Richard Coyle. I seemed to have missed this this past Summer. About pirates and John Malkovich plays a very interesting interpretation of Blackbeard. Enjoying that one, too.

He was also the dashing British Officer in Pirates of the Caribbean who was Keira Knightley's love interest (until she met Jack Sparrow). Hmmm .... Jack Davenport or Johnny Depp? Tough call.
If you like Brit Coms, check out "Coupling". (A bit racy, but hey it's British). NBC tried to make a US version but failed miserably. The British cast is exceptional.

I'm not a Johnny Depp fan, so I would definitely pick Jack Davenport!

Hooty, you're a wiser woman than Keira Knightley was.

I think it will return for a season because so much was left unresolved.

ITV, the British network, announced in January they were not ordering a second season.

What was decided in January may be reexamined now if it got good ratings. Anyone know if it did?

What was everyone's opinion of the ending?
I felt so sorry for Jack Davenport/Otto Powell, his "wife" is a selfish witch with a capital B!
Now we all know what happened in Cyprus! I just cannot imagine any man doing what he was doing!

It seems Otto was in for a penny and it turned into a pound. He felt responsible for her fiance's death and did the honorable thing in marrying her but after nine years he should be free to divorce and both of them move on with their lives.
I couldn't understand why Otto didn't counter his threat with one of his own. If the inspector was going to expose and ruin him, Otto could have exposed and ruined the inspector. Actually, the inspector couldn't have used the evidence he had without there being a lot of questions the first being why he waited so long to act on it. Seems like a Mexican Standoff to me.
