David Del Rio's wife commented on a  picture of the accuser something to the effect that she is crazy.  This was on instagram, of course it could just be a wife having blinding loyalty but it does make me wonder.

I'm pretty much done with the show.  I'll keep in on in the background while I do my evening computer activities only because it's better than 911 Nashville which I stopped watching after 3 or 4 episodes.  I still like Elsbeth though.

If they decide to wrap up this Wellbrexa thing and find a way to continue the show, I may start paying more attention again.  I really have no idea what happened last night except it seems they finally threw Julian off of suspecting Mattie, for now anyways.

@Icegoddess  Julian still is questioning Matty's involvement. When he went to the laptop to see the texts, the laptop was still warm. He is not being derailed. They only think it.

@elated After that, he thought he would prove Matty went in the room with the computers, but Olympia had erased that part of the video after Matty noticed the new camera in the hallway.  He apologized profusely to Olympia for doubting her, but of course, he still may suspect Matty.

However, the case they were working on, I have no idea what happened with that one.

@Icegoddess  The court case was found in favor of the defendant because he was in the hospital at the time.  He was found not guilty.

I know he saw the video but he was not convinced. He apologized because he wanted to smooth things over. So we shall see going forward.

@spumoni99  What made me wonder that it was in her trailer, so wasn't it a he/she said. Who were the witnesses? Not saying it didn't happen but it is curious. After the incident, she was smiling and carrying on with her mom. She didn't want to discuss which I understand. Just sad all the way around.

The acting is what's keeping this afloat for me. All of it, but Mattie and Olynpia's performances and complex relationship somehow keep it going. As for the junior lawyers, I'd like to see them both written out. They add nothing to the show. There have been other supporting characters who could potentially be far more interesting and far less noxious.

Matlock is a legal comedy/drama with an ensemble cast.  It's almost impossible to keep a one-hour show going without lots of secondary characters.

It's also impossible to keep a one-hour show going without characters from every age group.

@Tinkrbl44  I'm not suggesting they do either.

I am getting so bored with this show.  I am tired of the same story going on two seasons.  I cannot even follow it anymore it is getting a little confusing. They need to wrap this storyline up already.

what is with the DARN  Wellnrexa theme omg, I bowed out first season. Most worn and tired plot. It is a shame cause I can watch Kathy Bayes  in about anything. I love her. They need to fire the writers.  If I was Kathy Bates, I'd sue them....lol for boring and predictable.  lol. I love her that why I tuned in at first

that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  Lol

@Tinkrbl44   they need new writers, really.  Some of the shows need to get away from continuing story lines. I see many are doing it ,and I don't like it.  I don't want to watch the same story line threaded throughout the whole season. Many shows before survived on a huge cast, sometimes revolving characters, but story was different each week. Look at lots of murder/mysteries that did this Columbo, Matlock, Law and Order, murder she wrote etc... they have a basic format each week, but change the story, it's new.  They may have a couple part one/ part 2 shows.  I notice SUV, and some other shows have been doing this.  Or they have a character tormenting them from episode one til finale.   Not for me.

@shoekitty

Wow.  I just watched this week's episode and noticed something I'd never caught before.  I hope this makes sense.

Legal and medical dramas with an ensemble cast have a basic format.

These shows are either story-driven ... or character-driven.

Story-driven shows have a story of the week.  They start and end in one episode.  A good example of a story-driven series would be Law and Order.  Just the facts, ma'am.

Character-driven shows are less about the stories which can last for many episodes ... and are really all about the people.  A good example is Chicago Med.  People are being treated in the hospital, but we know plenty about the personal lives of the characters.

Every time there's two people talking, it's often mostly about the relationship of those people, and what's currently going on with them.

I'm tired but wanted to post while this was fresh in my mind.  I hope it makes sense.

I don't mind a continuing storyline if it is incidental but when it dominates episode after episode it does get boring.

Stick primarily to interesting court cases with occasional mention of Wellbrexa not focus on Wellbrexa with token court cases coverage.

I have no idea what the real-life story is between the two supporting actors. I also have little interest one way or the other. Perhaps CBS had solid reasons for their choice or perhaps, in today's rather obsessive climate, they chose to act precipitously and ask questions later, realizing it would be easier to reinstate him or settle an action than to endure endless bad press and settle likely multiple actions by keeping him around. As I've said, I personally wish they'd unload both of them, replacing them with more likable or at least more interesting characters.
