Well, this will be interesting ...........

David Del Rio has brought in one of Hollywood's most powerful attorneys -- Shawn Holley -- in the wake of his sudden firing from CBS' "Matlock" after his costar Leah Lewis accused him of sexual assault ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Del Rio retained Holley -- whose client list includes the likes of  Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Lindsay Lohan -- this week as he navigates the fallout from the allegation that got him booted from the hit CBS show last month.

@Tinkrbl44  Thanks, I guess he has to do something to try to salvage his career.

Here's what baffles me about this whole David Del Rio thing ....

After the Cosby and Weinstein scandals and the Me Too movement that followed, there was the CBS Les Moonves thing.

IMO, there's just NO WAY the Legal Dept at CBS would have signed off on immediately terminating David unless they were on rock-solid ground.

I understand David has to do serious damage control if he ever wants another acting job, but if CBS is on rock-solid ground, this new development could make things even worse for him ... I think.

I wonder how it will play out. Was there any evidence other than he said she said. @Tinkrbl44

@Tinkrbl44  It just makes me wonder why he would jeopardize his career. How do you know it is rock solid?  I just think there are always two sides to every story. Many careers have been destroyed by not getting the whole picture. I still will wait to see the outcome. Getting a lawyer is his prerogative.

@Estellee

"He said she said" isn't evidence, it's just an accusation, but usually triggers an inquiry of some sort.

When this happened, information beyond the fact he was terminated was scarce.

Having said that, if Leah just initially dismissed it and later learned that David had also groped 6 other women working on the show at different times, that changes everything.

I'm speculating this could be it, and someone told her she needs to report what happened and let the higher-ups make the call, not her.

JMO, of course.

No it's not evidence, just an accusation. I'll be interested in hearing his side now @Tinkrbl44

These days, rock-solid means the decision would hold up in a court of law against a wrongful termination lawsuit brought by the fired employee.

Perhaps David is being realistic about ever getting another acting job any time soon and is hoping for some sort of cash settlement to just go away?

So ... we will have to wait and see how this plays out.

I'm pretty much done with the show.  I'll keep in on in the background while I do my evening computer activities only because it's better than 911 Nashville which I stopped watching after 3 or 4 episodes.  I still like Elsbeth though.

If they decide to wrap up this Wellbrexa thing and find a way to continue the show, I may start paying more attention again.  I really have no idea what happened last night except it seems they finally threw Julian off of suspecting Mattie, for now anyways.

@Icegoddess  Julian still is questioning Mattie's involvement. When he went to the laptop to see the texts, the laptop was still warm. He is not being derailed. They only think it.

@elated After that, he thought he would prove Matty went in the room with the computers, but Olympia had erased that part of the video after Matty noticed the new camera in the hallway.  He apologized profusely to Olympia for doubting her, but of course, he still may suspect Matty.

However, the case they were working on, I have no idea what happened with that one.
