@ValuSkr wrote:It seems unlikely that Hallmark - of all companies! - would cast an ex-con in one of its movies. Unless, of course, Lori's cast as the villain - you know, the home-wrecker, or the banker who forecloses a home on Christmas Eve.

I don't watch When Calls the Heart anyway, so makes no difference to me..but I wish they would bring back Garage Sale Mysteries that Lori starred in. The mystery movies are orettty bad now imho. Her daughter being on DWTS just adds insult to injury...doubt it will help that sinking ship.

There would seem to be little reason they couldn't bring back a retooled and recast garage sale mystery series. Even if Loughlin owned a piece of the action, the premise could be tweaked enough and the title changed enough for it to fly as a new series.

I was surprised to read Hallmark was bringing her back....makes more sense if she is going to be on another network. Hallmark has been caving to many groups, though, and not doing it very well. She is damaged goods for them, so I guess she is just anxious to get in front of the camera again. If it doesn't work, maybe they will take her on DWTS!

As the parent of a child who was committed to excelling in academics and worked hard to achieve getting accepted to ivy league schools for a double-major bachelors and then for a doctorate program, I have no respect for someone convicted of cheating and bribing to get in.
I won't ever watch anything she's in.

@Tinkrbl44 I'm not sure what question I did'nt answer. You had a few. I tried to let you know I wasn't as up on this story as some here because I haven't followed it closely. She appeared early on, (the few times I did see her(on tv) angry, proud, and resentful that she was even being charged with something. At least that was the impression I got. I did try to tell you (as far as her showing humility, regret, or that she was sorry)... she may have done that. I never saw it. I agree with you that no one can know what is in another person's heart and I am not judging her. To me there is a big difference in judging someone and and making a judgement call. If I am judging then are you judging all of us whom you call self righteous or do you consider that a judgement call? I'm not trying to be snide but maybe you should think about it. You don't know my heart either. I always try to remember when I point my finger at someone else that I have three pointing back at myself. If I defamed Lori in anyway, I am sorry, I didn't mean to. I will try in the future to choose my words more carefully.

I haven't heard any regrets and I have to admit, that concerns me. I do think she needs to show some humility and regret if she is truely sorry. That doesn't mean "eat crow the rest of her life" but she does owe her public some honest answers, imo. For all I know she has done that. Hopefully, then, she can get on to a better more honest existance and be a positive in a world that so desperately needs all the positive it can get.
Interesting perspective. Personally, I don't look at any actor with either trust or distrust. I'm not sure if by "her public" you mean tv viewers or previous fans ... or who?
I am also not in a position to judge whether she is "showing humility" .... just how would you expect her to do that? Take out an ad in a newspaper?
IMO, the woman admitted guilt, did her time, and is trying to move on. She needs to get back to work. If you don't want to watch anything she appears in, then don't. No problem.
@Tinkrbl44 I never heard that she admitted guilt to anyone but the judge and I was under the impression, she did it to get a lighter sentence.
Like I said, I didn't follow this all that close. I just think that when someone is dishonest and it hurts other people whether it be her family, those who follow her career, those that maybe didn't get into college when someone did who didn't deserve to, it would go a lot better for her to show some remorse for what she did. To me, having the humility (I think that's what it takes) to do this would, imo, be in her favor as it takes guts to admit to wrong doing and I respect people who can do that. I think it releases them from continuing to feel guilty the rest of their lives or continue to worry about "what people think". I really don't see that as judging.
??? While I don't disagree with your comments, you conveniently didn't bother to answer my question.
What EXACTLY has she done to make you think she hasn't shown remorse ... and what is it you want her to do "to show humility??
And since you say you weren't following the case, how did you "get the impression" she apologized in court just to get a lighter sentence? How could you possibly know what was in her heart when she apologized in open court?
----------
I agree with others who have stated the obvious .... she didn't murder anyone and has served her time. I think if she has satisfied the court's rulings, no one has the right to attempt to prevent her from moving on and re-build her life by acting so ridiculously self-righteous. To paraphrase .... let they that is without ..... cast the first stone.
I guess I don't see anyone here attempting to prevent her from moving on, acting, or so on. Indeed, no one here has the power to do so. What I see here are some of us expressing a relative lack of support for her. I wish the woman no harm, but neither do I intend to support her or her career in any way.
