@ms traditional   I haven't watched it. Wanted to read some reviews. I still haven't seen the first one in its entirety. No rush.

@Tique   after another look, i think my general feeling is that i like some of the characters - but wasn't that taken with the "mystery" plots.  so i have to rank this in the"okay" category. nothing wrong with the acting - it's the writing in my opinion.  it didn't grab me.

I like Malick and like her character on the show... Not altogether thrilled with the rest of the casting... The story lines, eh, they're nothing special, but then again, it is Hallmark and as far as I'm concerned, they aren't known for offering compelling scripts...

@ms traditional   @VaBelle35    @stevieb     thank you for your reviews. I watched both the original and the new Darrow & Darrow shows this past weekend. Wasn't impressed with either. Didn't care for any of the regular characters except the daughter. I keep my expectations low when I view the Hallmark channels so I'm usually not disappointed or surprised.

@Tique  yes, the quirky daughter - and, i think, the feisty mother/grandmother are interesting. if only they had better storylines!

Re: Hallmark Mystery Channel

Their previews are getting to be a bit much. I had one on in the background for what will probably be their insipid 'June wedding' movies (the two actors 'hosting' were annoying, especially the, as usual, unappealing male) and darned if they didn't repeat the preview just a few days ago... Really? I know they like to show things over and over, but a freakin' preview...?

Re: Hallmark Mystery Channel

I am going to Trader Joe's later today to stock up on my favorite snacks. Sunday there is a Jesse Stone marathon. This is one series I can watch over and over and still enjoy. Wish they would make some new ones. If anyone is interested, I added a link above to a thread which provides some good information.

I haven't watched any of the Jesse Stone movies.  Thanks for the heads up on those.  I will DVR them to give them a try.

Re: Hallmark Mystery Channel

@Tique, Tom Selleck is on the cover of TV Guide, and the article says he is working on a new Jesse Stone movie for Hallmark. I wish they would do a Christmas mystery that would be the exact opposite of those perky movies they churn out for the holidays.
