@Still Raining I don't think this is the end for her.  She wants to get back on stage and I've heard she's going to do another residency in Las Vegas, taking over the stage Katy Perry left.

Ok.  Maybe I misunderstood.  It looks like the opening post says she'll be paid two million dollars to perform.

TMZ and some other outlets reported the fee, but the Paris Organizing Committee refuted it:

“Contrary to some media reports, the performers at the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies will not receive a fee for their performance."

Wow.  Sorry, but why do you think she isn't worthy of a fee?

The Olympics generate billions in revenue worldwide.  It's not some charity just squeaking by and desperately needs celebrities to help them out.  

Yes, their expenses (hotel rooms, meals, etc) SHOULD be paid for.  That should be a given.

IMO, since France is making a TON of money from the games even a modest fee seems appropriate ... to me, anyway.

Why should any entertainer work for nothing?
