Googled his name and surgery which he had on the 12th. There was a picture of him and said the surgery went great.

For you who know & like him but don't recognize the name --he's a Hallmark regular.

Thank you for the update. I hadn't known he was diagnosed with cancer. I hope they got it all and that he recovers quickly.

I recognized him. If I’m not mistaken, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. My mother-in-law survived that for many years. Let’s hope it was the kind of cancer, caught early, that can be treated and eliminated.

I had the condition mentioned in this link. At the age of nine, I was in a roller skating accident that ripped my hip out of the socket. I walked around limping for quite a time, and by the time I saw an orthopedic surgeon, the ball was mush. I was given a choice of a brace all the way up for a period of time, a cast, or crutches for a year, I chose the crutches.

Later in my adult years, I had a hip replacement, and have been doing fine ever since, sailed right through the recovery.

"The surgery that Mathison had was a partial nephrectomy, also known as “kidney-sparing surgery.” It's a difficult procedure, but one that leaves part of the kidney intact while removing a tumor."

According to the report I saw they were able to remove all the tumor and retain 80% of his kidney. I wish him a speedy recovery and continuing wellness.

Cameron Mathison is currently battling Kidney Cancer (2019).

@Pancho This is the surgery he had this year, guess you didn't see this post of mine.
